Hi everyone

Thought I would offer this to you guys first as would like this to go to a loving Hog Home!!

Due to needing some cash and space have decided to sell my copy of "Warthog - Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War" by William Smallwood.

This copy is very rare (infact only 2 in existance and I have both!) by the fact that its is signed by the 511TFS Vultures from RAF Alconbury who did exceptionally well in DS. Its signed by the aircrew who flew missions including Todd Sheehy who shot down the Mil Mi-8 Hip with the GAU-8!

So be quick, please email me with your offer for this book before the 21st September as it will be going to auction then if not sold!

So come on, who would like to purchase a piece of Hog history that wont be repeated again!

Email me!
Cheers
Kevin

Hogman I would love to have that book but don't have much cash, if you don't get many offers or not high enough (IYHO) please email me with a price and I'll see what I can do.

I could get Col Swain to sign it in jan and have both A2A kill pilots signitures on it..would be a nice peice of Hog history.

I will contribute 10 dollars to the cost of the book so that Dice can buy it.

Who else will donate to the 'make Dice happy fund'?

It's no problem dice, you're a great guy, and i can think of no one that would more properly honor such a book as you.

Lemme know if you get it, and i'll shoot the ten spot out to you. ;)

Hi guys

Thanks for everyones emails and I do apologise for not replying but have been out of town!

Yeah theres been quite abit of interest in the book from here WT.

To answer questions...

1. Book is as new, no marks, no rips, mint condition.

2. Yeah signed by the pilots only from the 511TFS Vultures - no ground crew on there or any other squadron.

3. - Price - wow, er dont honestly know what its worth, I got 2 done and that was it, I am keeping one as it has personal comments to me from the guys in the Vultures but the other one which I am selling has rank name callsigns and signatures of everyone including Lt Col Mike "Irish" O Connor the CO of the 511th and Capt Todd "Shanghi" Sheehy who shot down the Mi-8 with the GAU-8.

Dont know where to start it off really, I guess it depends on what you think its worth!

Sorry I cant help more guys, its a personal thing to think how much its worth!

Hope this helps
Kind regards
Kevin "Hogman"

Man Kevin without some kind of price range, or at least a min price, I would not know where to start, I surely can't bid in a "slient auction". If you deside to give a base to start at, allow us to post bids here or, put the book on Ebay so I can see the bids I guess I will have to bow-out of this one, as much as I hate to. Good luck to you and I hope the book finds a good home!

Thanks again Sniper for your offer and you know, I also had an offer from someone who visits here and saw this thread (but doesn't post) to donate (give) me money to buy this book..this from a person I don't even know! You guys made my weekend with your offers of cash..never let anyone tell you there aren't nice people on the "net"!

I'll open the bidding at a nickel. Something with Shanghai's name on it couldn't be worth much more than that. It took him 900 rounds to drop a helicopter...

Hogman, why don't you keep your books for yourself, that's who they signed them for, isn't it? Are you going to share the money you get with the pilots of the 511th that signed the book? Perhaps contribute to their kids college education? The "value added" is theirs, not anything you did.

I see nothing wrong with Hogman selling his book, after all they are his to do with what he wants. When someone sign’s an item they should know this make the item a collectable in some circles and it will be traded and sold as the owner sees fit.

Dice I am a little short on cash to add to the "Help buy Dices book" fund. So I gave my nine year old a helmet and sword and told him to go out play and play viking. He is down the street right now holding the police chiefs wife hostage. I swear he is gonna burn her at the stake in twenty minutes if he doesnt get the ransome money for you.<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

I'll go $70.00; it'd make a great Christmas present for "Taco" (went to Tech School with him in 73) or "Huggi Bear" both G&C troops who used to work for me in the 511, and life long friends. They both went to the desert with the 511th. I was in the 509th at the time. let me know how the bidding goes.

Oh ya I have a video tape done by the Commander of the 511th AMU interviewing maintenance troops, mostly Myrtle Beach and RAF Alconbury troops but a few others, anyone interested I can do copies for ya. JKA

Hi there Oldbear

I would love to see the 511 video, spent alot of time with the guys of the 511 and it was them who bestowed the callsign "Hogman" on me!

On the bidding front things seemed to have stalled at $75 so sorry Oldbaer but you have been outbid!

Nice to hear from a Vultures/Pirates guy!

Kind regards
Kevin

Hi Guys

Just a reminder only a couple of days until this goes to its new home - so if you are interested get your offer in to me!

Current selling price is $75.

Remember this opportunity will not come up again, as there are only 2 of them in existance!

:-)

Hogman (Kevin) just send me your snail mail address via e-mail (john.adams1@robins.af.mil) and I'll burn you a VHS tape as soon as I get a spare minute. Anyone else want one? JK Adams
