I like the parity of todays league. A 9-7 team that squeeks into the playoffs used to be a warm up game for the divisioanl playoffs, now they are a threat to go all the way.

Denvers offence wa perfect for the Chiefs D. Veteran recievers vs a mediocre backfield, and a soft middle against the run, Portis's accel is amazin almost as good as Daunte Halls.

What happened to the Chiefs? Where was their defense? AHH this is so hard to love them with them playing like this. Well look at their next game, hopefully they can pull THIS one out!

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes an even bigger man to laugh at the big man crying.

Damn this has been a tough year. I am used to Oakland gearing up for the playoffs, Gannon is probably never going to wear a Raiders uniform ever again, Tim Brown and Jerry Rice are done....That team went from a dominant force to the worst team in the NFL overnight, but I saw them slipping last year. Jon Gruden brought balance, Bill Callahan and Marc Trestman made them one dimesional, and when Gannon got hurt, that was it.

I am rooting for Philly cause I want Snipe to learn what a Super Bowl victory is all about, but also cause my man Jon Ritchie is playing Fullback for the Eagles.

I also want KC to win it cause Boomer was just a young lad when ole Hank Stram was calling 34 toss power trap on the sidelines when they last won a Super Bowl, but this year has truely made me a fan, and I have learned to enjoy the game despite Oaklands poor performance this year.

Yep Boomer, the refs are part of the field. Seattle lost that game by committing to many mistakes, a football game should never be blamed on one play, regardless of how heartbreaking that play is. (eg) Charles Woodson sacking Tom Brady, and forcing a fumble....that Walt Coleman later called a foward pass ;)

Raiders had ample opportunity to stop Brady, but the New England football gods had more pull that year.

Remember Sugar Bear Hamilton, Hawg?

on that "ref tackle" play there were 3 defenders closing in, timing wise they got there in time anyway, just hate to see it go down like that.

I got yer team of destiny right here booms...

E A G L E S...EAGLES!!!! ;)

I love watching a desperate team fire every bullet it's got at the Eagles and still come up short.

LIke i said, when McNabb is playing like he is now, the Eagles are almost impossible to beat.

Just ask the Eagles last 10 opponents. ;)

Ahh Snipe, relax lad. Once in awhile every team plays a stinker and proves to the rest of the NFL they are but mere mortals, even your Eagles. Good to get it out of their system before the playoffs....

NFC belongs to Philly, mark my words. The Rams are not physical enough, and I dont see them capable of playing smashmouth.

Playing the Rams in Stl on that racetrack is a loooooooooooot less desirable than playing them on the frozen grass of the Link on a cold January day.

But the Eagles played the Rams very well in 2001 in Stl for the NFC championship game...so it would probably still be a very competitive game.

Probably in the Super Bowl Hawg ;)

Despite their loss, Philly and NE are playing the best ball in the NFL right now.

Chad the Greeks fearless forecast is for a Philly, NE colonial showdown.

<Preparing cautiously for the onslaught of verbal abuse I'm about to receive...>

...and yet again, nobody mentions the roller-coaster Vikings, who TRAMPLED the noble Chiefs and sent 'em back to the reservation with their tomahawks between their legs.

Ah, well... I'm cheering for the Raiders tonight, if only to help my hopeless Vikes crawl into the playoffs. Poor Favre, his dad died last night of a heart attack or stroke... wonder if it'll affect the game outcome, if he plays at all.

half hearted condolences on the Eagles, I DONT want my Ramies to play up there. I was watching it at the hospital and had to leave when it was still 20-21.

That is a bummer about Brett Favre's dad. This is the first I have heard of it. Brett will play, and probably destroy the Raiders by himself.

Offensive Juggernauts rarely win chamionships. Look at the NFL in the last 20 years. In 1983, the Washington Redskins where the first team in NFL history to score 500 points in a season, they were destroyed by a more physical LA Raider team.

1984 Dan Marino broke every significant NFL passing record, they were beat by a better defensive ball control San Fransico 49er Team.

The Chicago Bears, NY Giants both won because they had great defenses. The Bills were probably the best offensive team in football durring their run, but got beat by lesser offensive teams with a more physical style of playing football. Yes the Rams beat the Titans a few years back, but the game was not the greatest show on turf, but rather a slugfest that the Titans nearly pulled off. Baltimore and New England both played solid defense, and were defensive oriented teams, and last year the Tampa Bay Bucs completley beat in every aspect of the game the #1 offensive team in the NFL, because they had a stronger, quicker, my physical defense. And Jon Gruden later said himself that no starter he had on offense in Tapma Bay, would have started for him with the offensive talent he had in Oakland. You play smashmouth, and dont turn the ball over the odds will greatly favor your ability to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Great defense wins chamionships....I really like the way both New England and Philly grind it out, bet yet retain the ability to strike quickly. Tennesee was once my favorite in the AFC, but New England has exploded. KC, STL, and the Vikings IMHO don't play the style of football that will favor them deep into the playoffs, or Super Bowl.
