I just wanted to say thank you to all the A-10's for their efforts over in Iraq. My husband is with an armor unit from the 3rd Infantry Division. His brigade lead the way on the road to Baghdad. Without the air support from the A-10's, that road would have been a great deal harder. He has told me stories how the air support cleared the way for the 3rd ID and made their jobs much easier, and what I consider most important, much safer. The air support from the A-10's saved numerous lives of the troops on the ground. For this, I am extremely greatful.
Thank you,
Stormy (A tanker's wife)

Thank you also for the contribution your husband made during OIF.

Sierra hotel!

It's nice to see appreciation from the american public. To have a family member of a U.S. Serviceman in harms way, deliver that appreciation. Defines the excellence of that meritorius applaude!

You cant get any finer truth than that.

i couldnt agree with her more.....the air support the air force provides is invaluable. i know personally what her husband was going through and how big a part air support plays in a victourious ground campaign. the 3id played a major part in our victory over there and theyre a great bunch of guys, i was attached to them for awhile. if there was a hall of fame of planes the a10 would defintly be in it...

I figured i should probably mention this before this thread dissappears, Stormy's husband is one 1st Lt Bob Gruniesen, 3d Infantry Division, TF-164 Armor, Charlie Co.

Her husband won the bronze star with V device for valor in battle in the attack on Baghdad.

He is mentioned by name in the "Operation thunder run" thread in the general discussions forum.

So while we're at it here, i would like to thank Lt Gruniesen for his extraordinary service to this great nation.
