The PMR went well but the 30th Anniversary dinner was so so. The dinner and drinks with frineds was nice and Lockheed Martin gave out historical DVDs, lapel pins, and A-10 laminated (S?) luggage tags. Col Bob Swain's speech didn't go well because he didn't get to show the Desert Storm and OIF footage he wanted to (I will not go into why) so his just spoke a few minutes.

Also the 30th coins didn't come in in time so they were not avalable. Good news for you guys, they were taking orders for them and I put myself down for 20. The regulars here will get first crack at one for $5 + a buck to ship it. I may be able to get more later but I know I have 20.

Weasel (Pete), Goose, prkiii, Sniper, Stinger, 30mm, M2, weasel 80-278, boomer, Coach, MrMudd, Tock, Tinygiant, and any of the other regulars who I have not meationed can get one if you want it. Yojimbo your's will be free for helping with the graphics.

BTW-I also picked-up a few HUNDRED pictures of OIF from one of my biggest supporters (website and picture wise) from Bradly ANG CT. most are of people so will will not post them without their say-so but, I do love seeing the human side of what when on over there that you don't see on the TV much, here's a couple I can show....

Dice

I will most definitely take the one you got me, and I already owe you for the DVD, so rack me up a list of things I can get you in addition to the cash so I can really repay you. I hope to get to Spang in the next few weeks, maybe something from there? I have no suggestions as I haven't been there in years, but I am hoping to get by the 81 FS.

Cheers! M2

Hey Dice I am real late on this thread, sorry I was down at Eglin and Moody on a Snowbird trip. I think there is someone from Hill that anyone can order the 30th coins from. I will try to post it after I get it from the base.
Nice pics Dice. Looks vaguely farmilliar.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Seems the A10 community has always been pretty small. Someday someone should put together pictures of just the human side of the community. It would be cool to see alot of you guys in your younger days.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Hawg166, the email that went out last week on the coins was not supossed to go out to the world but it did. The lady who is handling the coins was not happy about this and a lot of people who answer that email will not be getting coins anytime soon. There were only 600 ordered and they have been sold already, she may order more but it will be at least a month, if not more, before they come in....even if more are ordered which is not a sure thing yet.

I have 20 reserved so I will hold one for you.

Fender, got your letter and just waiting on the coins to come in, hopefuly this week or next at the latest.

No I will not get in trouble, the SPD sent-out the email. The people who signed-up for coins at the PMR (I put myself down for 20) and the people at Hill are the first priorty so it may be servil orders away for "others" who order from off-base.

I wish this coin would have been held to a limited number but I understand the SPD wanting anyone who has worked in the A-10 community to have a chance to get one. Because this coin is a non-base/unit/squadron coin it is a good item for anyone who has ever been involved with, or just likes, the A-10.

Yojimbo, looks like your work is going to be a BIG hit, thanks again for the help, and I will hold you one for sure.

I still have that mascot battle image in my head and maybe that will be my first "post-retirement" project. I think I could sale lithographics of that!

It seems I may have given some of you the wrong impression on what happen with the 30th coins. Let me try to clarify a little, 600 were ordered for the World Wide PMR but didn’t make it in in time for the meeting so orders were taken at the PMR for the coins. About 400 were ordered at that time which left a couple hundred left-over. The person who is in charge of them sent out an email to the MAPA directorate to try an finish selling the last of the coins.

The SPD also sent this email to other directorates on Hill AFB. At this point people on Hill who received this email started sending it to others, off base, who they thought might be interested in getting one. This has spilled out of control and the email is everywhere now.

Needless to say the lady who runs the coins can’t start selling hundreds of them all around the world because she just doesn‘t have the payment and shipping system to do this. We don’t know how this will be handled yet but a few options have been looked at. The 600 which was ordered at the PMR (including the 20 I signed-up for) will be shipped but as far as new orders and ones coming from accounts which are not on an A-10 base...we don’t know yet.

So you see I’m not in any “trouble” for my order but any orders above the original 600 is very much in limbo. We are not sure if more will be ordered (at this time) and shipped outside of A-10 meetings or bases.

I'd love to get one Dice, but not if it means a more-deserving pilot/crew-dog/etc would miss out.

Here's how the final design came out and what the coin will look, they are due in around the middle of March. Also because of the number ordered (1300 so far) the coin's finnish has been upgraded to gold!
