did the "Pope" jets ever have any unit art besides the teeth? I believe I saw a sim screenshot of the teeth on the nose with a black mustang above the wing on the sides of the fusalage.

Black Mustang above the wing on the side of the fusalage isn't from Pope (the the best of my knowledge) it's from Osan (which I'm sure of).....

THe Black Mustang is for sure Osan, but I don't remember it being painted on the A-10's. Seems I recall it on the backbone of the Vipers assigned there.

Nice to see 80-281 back with USAFE, it was formerly with the 92nd TFS 'Skulls' at Bentwaters before the big transfer in 1992.
Must be the odd one out, I'm sure its the only FY80 jet in the squadron, originally only WR's FY81/82 jets transferred to Spang.

Thanks guys for the Osan pics. Now that I've seen it I do remember them now.
Must be old age setting in.

As far as 0171 & 0276 at Spang, as I remember they were sent over there as loaners because of a flying hour crunch with one jet hard broke because of the golf course incident and others in paint and depot status for EGI.
Cheers

Raven,

The first group, I think. 281 was with them in "Tattoine". Met up with "Bo" there.

Yep you can still see our patch right underneath the upper UHF in the pic. Dull but you can make it out.

Sorry guys I am late on this thread also. I do pitty the fool that tries to take my Snoopy off of my door. I will take the $300 from his women and children. Then I will burn his village and salt his fields.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson
