I've always wondered...

How do you start this thing? It does not have a key, right?

Seriously...

You guys seem to know every last detail of our beloved bird...

Whats the start up sequence?

1) Main Battery
2)APU
Blah Blah Blah....

The reason I ask..I'm sitting in an A-10 right now, trying to steal it...

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Not bad for an old man Jb but you forgot the main and wing bost pumps and the generators. And make sure the APU unloads before the start cycle light goes out.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Hawg166 you are correct, however technically you dont need to have the boost pumps on to start the eng's. I have done this by accident in a hurry to get a jet ran prior to quiet hrs on the trim pad late one evening....thanks for reminding me in case i ever have to run one again

I remember while being the "groundman" for phaseman on several eng runs, he used to say "fire in the hole" as he would put the throttle ove the hump.

Phaseman, do you still say that when you crank up the T-6? Or is that only when you crank up 'big sexy'?

LOL.

On 2800s, we had a few minor details. Select the motor, hit the starter, keep the finger on the electrical boost, diddle the primer switch, and goose the throttle a tad to catch the motor.

3 fingers working and the other hand moving the throttle.

Turbines were far easier.
