Is this! I did a Co-Op program in High School with these guys, a good group of guys, but come on! How do they expect the "Devils" to carry out the same stuff our guys are doing?

They have claimed and tried time after time to have the lawn dart do the hawgs mission. It just cant be done......I got a ride in a dart when I PCS'd from Pope, I have to say I learned some new respect for the acft. I just think the Gen.'s feel that since they spent billions of tax dollars on the LD that they have to use it. Like when they made the Ld into the 'weasel' mission....big mistake IMO. The F-15 would have been the best acft for the job. Just take a strike and fil it full of AMRAMS & HARMS...........

Concur, the Strike would have made a better WW. And there ain't no way the "A-16" (as it was once called) could ever replace the mighty Hog! <img src=newicons/icon_hog.gif border=0 align=middle>

If history is repeating itself (that is, if the AEF cycle is repeating itself), the F-16s are replacing the A-10 not because they can do the job of the A-10, but because it is now another rotation of the AEF and there are no A-10s in this rotation. There are not enough A-10 units to cover every AEF cycle, even though we often wish there were.

The -16's can't do the Hawg's job, we all know that. But the A-10 has made it safe for the LD to cruise around town and look sexy for the photographers!<img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle>
