Called "Republic's A-10 Thunderbolt II" A Pictorial History by Don Logan. It cost me $51 bucks, a little pricey but, it is hard-cover and full of pics. Here's a link....

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 98-5746552

I would give this one a 7 of 10 because the pics are nothing special (90% aircraft on the ground) but a good refrance to units, paint, and tail flashes.

LOL Goose, all I can say is it's in the works. I have a good part of chapter I done and starting on chapter II. Chapter I was easy, a history of the A-10 up to DS but, now it gets hard because it's telling a story that's all from me.

I have set-up interviews with pilots who flew in OIF/OEF at Hawgsmoke so that' s a good thing. I'm at LEAST a year from being done and don't even have a publisher yet. You guys will all get a signed copy IF it gets published but if not you may just have to read it on the web.

I THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH BACKING HERE TO GET A PUB.

I BET YOU WOULD HAVE 500 RESERVED COPIES UP FRONT. AT LETS SAY $50.00 A COPY THATS $25,000.00 WORTH OF BOOK SALES.
AND YOU KNOW THEY DONT COST THAT MUCH TO PRINT.

HOW MANY $50.00 BOOKS YOU'VE SEEN ON THE CLEARANCE RACK FOR $5.00?

I'M PRETTY SURE YOURS WONT!

Dice,

Don will be at Hawgsmoke so make sure you say hi. In case you didn't know he's a big slide shooter and has a few similar Schiffer books to his name. Was a F-4E wizzo and was shot down and spent time at the Hanoi Hilton in 71/72. A really nice guy. He might have some door art slides so I'll hook you up with him before Hawgsmoke.

As for your book, there's a couple of publishers here in the UK who might be interested, again, chat to you in the land of the crawfish.

That would be great Gunsmoke! Looks like Hawgsmoke is going to be a blast and I get some research done and make some new contacts!

Hehe don't tell Don I only rated his book a 7/10 or he will never give me some pics! <img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle>

I picked up the same book about 2 years ago from Don. I was on the net one day doing a search and found that he had his own personal websie he was selling the book from. If I remember correctly, I believe I paid about 30$ shipped to my door for it. It was drastically cheaper and it came right from the man himself. He even autographed it too. I'll take a look later for his website and post the link on here when I find it in case anyone else is looking to purchase it. - Mark

Mark, thanks for pointing that out, Don Logan's website is on the links page of our website: www.sharpshooter-maj.com

He also has a small portfolio in our portfolio's section (obviously!)

Sorry for the plug, but we'll have a big feature on Hawgsmoke coming after we get back to Blighty.

Cheers,
Kev
