Nice vid, always sweet to hear those TF-34s and the burp of the GAU-8! I would guess those are Panther birds, what range was it?

Cheers! M2

I should have tried to go over and see them shooting while I was over there. A pity.

My dad had to go TDY to Nordhorn to recover his A-10 from RAF Bentwaters when it was involved in a mid-air collision in 1985.

There was a mid-air in late 1988 over a town where one the aircraft hit an apartment building, killing many civilians. One of the pilots was also killed.

Coach

He may have been referring to the mid-air that occured within the 81 TFW between 82-84, I can't remember the exact dates. I also believe there was a mid-air involving a Hog and a Cessna over Norwich where the latter flew into restricted airspace to get a better look at the jets. Sorry I don't have further details, but the gray matter just isn't what it used to be!

Cheers! M2

There was a mid-air between two Hogs in the Wash ATA in Dec 83. One pilot survived and one didn't.

There was also a mid-air between a cessna and a Hog in 84 or 85, the cessna pilot did not survive, the Hog Pilot didn't know it happened, his wingman told him.

Thanks Coach! I believe the Cessna incident must have been 84 as it happened before I left in April of that year. I heard the same thing, that the wingman had to tell lead he was involved in a mid-air. The Cessna driver only had a few hours having just recently solo'd.

Cheers! M2
