I've hit my head on the F-117 a few times. While there's not much ot hit your head on, what there is is conveniently positioned, and generally have corners or sharp edges. The three times I've hit my head, I've drawn blood every time.

BUT BY THAT TIME I WAS REALLY FEELING<img src=newicons/tard.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/Whatever_anim.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle> AND PLOPPED TO THE GROUND WHERE THE SPEICALIST TRUCK STOPPED AND PICKED ME UP.

THAT WAS ONE OF MANY HOG BITES.

Goose when I got mine I had just got down off of the ladder. My two man, who happened to be a female, was at the muzzle end of the jet. I went to check the gun pin and from there I went straight to the front of the jet instead of stepping sideways. Next thing I knew I was on the ground and blood was running down my forehead. I looked at my two man and there she is with a BFW (Big F' Wrench) in her hand. I said why in the hell did you hit me. She started laughing because she knew I knocked myself silly on the UHF antenna.

I got a few "hog bites" from back in the day...couple left scars (damn live mav fins) But my most memorable (and most embarrassing) was when I "ran" up the ladder to check something & the canopy wasn't opened all the way...caught the edge across my forehead and I just jumped straight back...and if I remember correctly it was right after I told a new airmen to always make sure the canopy is fully opened before going up....lol....I learned my lesson cause I damn sure always looked up first after that...lol...

I find it helps, if you have a hand free, to put it on the most likely place to bump, like the air gates in the front of the bomb bay, when you go by. Since you have your hand on it, you'd have to already have addled brains to hit it. Doesn't work for everything all the time, but it helps.

By far the worst thing about the Nighthawk is that the bottom is pretty much flat, and about chest high on me. You either have to be a midget, or put up with bending over uncomfortably to work underneath, which of course is where everything is. Provides plenty of room to sit in the shade though.
