I show four doors for the same jet can anyone here tell me if I have it right or have I messed-up somewhere.

This is the first one and because it has the tail number on it (80-0247) I think I have this one right ... <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

<img src="http://www.warthogpen.com/art_thumb_files/doorart44s.jpg" border=0>

How about these next three, anyone have info on them and are they the same jet?

Dice- All those doors are/were on Osan jets. The first one that says 247 is no longer there, 247 has a blank ladder door now, although a very similar painting is on 82-0652. "Paybacks a Bitch" is on 80-0153, "Natural Born Killer" (with Pumba) is on 80-0213 and "Natural Born Killer" (with the devil) is on 80-0244. I have really good pictures (2304x1728 4mp)of all Osan ladder doors and I'd be glad to post them somewhere but they're very big, approx 1.3mb each. If your mailbox is large enough to recieve them, let me know and I'll send 'em off. There are 23 doors with art on them here at Osan, but I only have pics of 21 of them. 2 are at depot, and should be back at the end of the month, I'll get pictures of those then. Let me know if you'd like them

Thanks again Jack for the info! Those are large files but I would be happy to pay for a disk, shipping, and something to make it worth your time if you would send them on disk. I have a 30th Anniversary coins and A-10 historical DVD I would be glad to send ya for your trouble. let me know at Hogpen13@aol.com and I'm sure we can work something out!

Have you been to my website and seen the art I've collected? I'm trying to build a histroy (with as much info on each nose/door art as I can get) so I can document this part of the Hawgs past and present.

BTW I'm Dice I just changed my user name after retiring last week!

Anyone know what the current door art for 81-0973 is? When it was the bird I used to borrow from the CC (with my rented 3' x 4" space on the canopy where my name was), it's door was adorned with an Arizona flag as the background to some desert scenery with mountains/cacti, and a large lizard in the middle.....door dubbed "The Gila Monster"). Got some pics of it before I left, and will scan a few when I can.

Jack

Thanks for the photo, unfortunately you have sent me "Dominatrix" rather than "Paybacks a Bitch". Also is "Hell Hath no Fury" a door art from Osan, as it looks like the same artist as the Bitch.

I have no idea. All but 2 of the doors here at Osan were painted prior to when I got here.

Looks like it might be time for Miss Behavin' to get some touch-up work or start going through the Playboys and find Miss Behavin' III!

Speaking of Osan jets, curious about 81-0971. Supposedly, it's back was broken during it's landing accident. If so, was it cost-effective to rebuild the jet rather than just getting another jet from another unit, or at worst case, one from the boneyard? I know that jet was out for a long while. Just curious how that decision was made for the damage it sustained that would, on the face of it, appear to be a write-off.

Type7, first the reason it took so long to fix was political and had to do with Depot and money. Once the CLSS got on the jet and Depot was taken out of the picture it only took about 4 months to put her back in the air...and a lot of that time was spent waiting on parts.

Also it's back wasn't broken and most of the damage it did recive was to the wing (trunions)and nose gear trunion area. Because Hog-up (SLEP) was in full swing and the aircraft was already here at Hill it could be "Hoged-up" with a "new" wing and placed back in srevice quicker and cheaper than pulling one from AMARC.

It's really a long story and if you want more info you can email me at... Hogpen13@aol.com
