Why was the door art from our MA Air Guard flagship (79-104) used in a picture with a Pope jet ?

Because nothing in the world looks better than an A-10 with teeth! ATTACK! BTW, if anyone's wondering, that picture was from a COMBAT HAMMER at Hill AFB, UT, August 2001.

I did this and first off yes, the image was flipped, second I like the shot of the pope jet firing the mav and the cowgirl image so I put the two together. I didn't have a picture of a MA jet firing/dropping weapons...simple as that.....

BTW- I depend on the generosity of others for most of the content on my site and I’m sorry to say MA has not been a big supporter in the past. Hawg166 sent me some photos during (shortly after) OIF but a lot of those photos I can’t use because of OPSEC so I’m stuck using what I find on the net.

I’m more than happy to give any A-10 unit their dues on my site but, I’m limited by what I have to work with, even more so now that I’m retired and don’t have access to a lot of site and people I used to.

If you can get me a nice shot of one of your aircraft I will make it up to you next month....best I can do!

If anyone is curious, the artist who created that cowgirl is named Mike Dooney. He is the art director for Mirage studios, the guys who do the ninja turtles. He just finished up work on the new star wars movie and you may have seen some of his work on shrek 2. He has been doing some artwork for us on our jets for nothing. The guy is awesome. He'll be doing another door for us soon, as soon as the jet gets outside from phase I'll send you a picture of the new door Dice.

Ernie, Mark.............down boys, lay off. You know who photoshopped it and it is my fault for not getting Dice more stuff. I just dont have much more to get him. Next drill I am going to get Aaron's video and send one to Dice but I gotta wait untill the August UTA.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Thanks Smitty, if you get a shot of the door and a nice 3/4 nose shot of the aircraft I can make a nice wallpaper.

Remember Smitty "it's all about the teeth", and shark week begins July 25 on Discovery! I think AGE can make those teeth stickers for GTP!

Dice, I was not trying to attack in any way at all. I didnt know who did the photo"chop" to it at all, but I wanted to bring it to your attention, thats all. I got some pics today and I will post them later of 79-104 "Boss Hawg" with the cowgirl door art. Again, I wasnt trying to bash you here at all because I had no clue who had made it, but I just wanted to point that out to anyone who saw the pic on here and thought that art might be on a Pope heap. - Mark

Billy, if you want I will burn Dice a copy with my DVD burner and mail it out to him myself. No sweat on my part.

Anytime you guys want something posted on my site about your unit send it to me (be it pictures or stories) and will will be more than happy to post it.

My site is the <b>Warthog Pen</b> not the ACC, or PACAF, or USAFE...well I think you get the idea, it's all about the A-10 and the people who fly and maintain her!

Hawg166 nothing is your fault you sent me pics and I love them and thanks you a lot for them but, as you know some just can't be posted on the net at this time.
