OK guys, NFL training camp opens in a few weeks for most NFL Teams.

I'll address my take on of the few of the local favorites...

Chiefs have the G-man back coaching their "D", and since that "D" pretty muched owned my Raiders for the bulk of the 90's ( In still remember Derrick Thomas abusing Jeff Hostetler, and James Hasty grapping late game pics) I know first hand how well they are in take aways...Offense is world class, with many weapons, providing Trent Green stays healthy...KC is the class of the AFC West, and a second behind New England in the AFC.

Philly should be improved now that Donovan has a game breaker in TO to chuck the ball to, Philly IMHO should make it this year if Andy Reid can get past the NFC Championship game, Philly has been knocking on the Super Bowl door so long their damn knuckles are bleeding...

Saints....lmao, better invest in paper bags.

Raiders....well I am personaly disgusted with the fact they are going back to the 10 holding penalty, 15 QB sack a game "vertical offense" that became obsolete in 1987...But, they are my team, and they can atleast improve on thier 4-12 mark a year ago. I just hope Rich Gannon doesn't get killed in the process...is it me, or does Kerry Collins look alot like Jay Schroeder in a Raiders uniform, I am still trying to forget that POS....

Redskins should be better, Mark Brunnell is a former U of W local boy, and I have always been a big fan of his.

Dallas had a fluke year, nothing tells me they will contend this year, especially with Vinny.

Seattle will go deep into the playoffs, and I believe it will either be the Seahawks or the Eagles representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. AFC is New Englands to lose, unless KC has something to say about that.

Thats my "infinate wisdom" for this comming season...

Eagles added Jevon Kearse AND MLB Jerimiah Trotter along with T.O.

With a healthy Westbrook back(and by all accounts he is), they have BY FAR the strongest team Reid has ever had at his disposal.

Should be fun to watch. :)

Well Smitty...As recent as two seasons ago, Kurt Warner was contemplating whether or not he had enough fingers for all the Super Bowl rings he was about to win, in a few weeks he will battle the NFL's #1 2004 draft pick (Eli Manning) for the NYG starting QB job...

What is my point you may ask? Not even a heavy favortite like New England is a shoe in to repeat in todays NFL. While New England looks young and impressive, this is definatley a football league who's party line should be "What have you done for me in the last 5 minutes"...

Detroit could win it all this year for all we know.

They have two high draft picks from two seasons ago that saw extensive playing time last year when Vincent or Taylor or both were hurt(which was about half the season). They played quite well for 2d year players. They don't have the size of Taylor, but they both have Vincent like speed.

Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppherd are the youngsters names.

They're a bit of a step back from Taylor and Vincent(when healthy), but they are definitely both talented young players. Brown is also a very big hitter for a corner, and a very good blitzer- very important when you play for Jim Johnson, lol.

Factor in the addition of Kearse, and it makes the Eagles pass rush just lethal with all the blitzing Johnson likes to do, add Trotter and a returning 330lb Hollis Thomas in the middile to shore up a weak run D, and it is a VERY solid pressure defense.

T.O. obviously transforms the Eagles offense into a lethal implement of vertical envelopment, lol. ;)

Snipe does Philly have an enforcer to sit on TO to prevent his ridiculous antics from becoming a distraction?

TO's antics have never really struck me as all that big a deal, but i suppose it's a legitimate concern.

The single greatest motivator for a player is a superbowl ring, and you'd probably have to say the Eagles are the favorites in the NFC to win it....so hopefully that's all the motivation he'll need.

If not we'll let the Freak smack him around a little, lol.

I won't argue with the fact that this is an extremely competative league and there are favorites, however, being from Mass, I am genetically encoded to loathe all teams not ours no matter how bad we lose. The Red Sox are a shining example of that. I'm telling you 2018 will be our year!

Fahgetaboudit, I'm not gonna be here to appreciate it, I'm gonna be in pre-military academy. What I am here to appreciate is how my Mets actually have a fighting chance this year, especially if they get their act together.
