Big road game, hostile dome crowd, 2-0 opponent....

Eagles 21-7 at the half.

So far this season the Eagles have been forced into ONE three and out, lol.

McNabb is 17 for 21 for about 200 yards and 2 TD passes, and one rushing TD in the first half. TO has caught his league leading 5th TD pass of the season(he actually caught this one, lol), and has at least one TD in Every game as an Eagle so far.

The Eagles pass rush has been all over Lions QB Harrington, sacking him twice(Kearse, Dawkins), and forcing him to fumble.

Lions added a 2 minute drill TD at the end of the half, but honestly, they look like a college team trying to match up against the Eagles so far in this game. Until about 2 minutes left in the half Detriot had all of about 50 yards of offense. Eagles have about 250yds of first half offense....but again, not much TOP because they keep scoring so fast.

I don't see Detroit turning this one around in the second half, the Eagles were a Freddie Mitchell fingertip drop away from making it 28-0.(Mitchell dropped a 50 yd bomb and a 15 yard out route pass in the first half, accounting for 2/3's of McNabbs incompletions).

Eagles added a couple 3d Quarter FGs, and had a beautiful 40 yard punt return off a reverse by rookie sensation J.R. Reid.

Detroit managed to move the ball a little in the 3d, but were stopped on a 4th and 6 from the Eagles 37yd line, so added no points in the 3d Quarter.

27-7 Eagles at the moment.

Edit to add: 30-13 Final. That rookie WR for Detroit is a hell of a player, but one WR does not a team make. DE Jevon Kearse finished the game with 2 sacks, once of which caused a Harrington fumble. He was a force again today. TO finished with 6 catches for 107yds(including deep bombs of 58 and 29 yards for a TD), and McNabb threw for over 300 yards, with no picks, 2 TD passes, and a rushing TD.

Correction: Jevon Kearse had three sacks and a forced fumble in yesterdays game- not two sacks. The Eagles defense has 14 sacks already- which is a pace to exceed my prediction of 65 by 9. The Eagles are on a pace for 74 sacks this season so far.

FB John Richie is out for the year with an ACL tear. He will be missed.

BTW, after Owens scored his TD, he snapped off a salute into the cameras as a tribute to the men and women in the armed forces, many of whom he has contact with on his website.

My Giants are now 2-1 !

We sucked week one, but our D is outstanding now, producing turnovers and getting to the QB like crazy. And we've got Warner, Barber, Toomer, and Shockey on offense; 27 pts this past week.

Next week against the Packers will be a good test, as we take on Favre, Green, and Walker. I think we can take em, but we are playing at their place.

I said after week 1 that the Giants had a good team, they have a lot of offensive weapons, and a good defense. They might make the playoffs, though it will be hard considering the other teams in the division. In other years the Giants with the team they have now could have won the division, but not this year. The Eagles are looking like a solid 13-3 team this year.

My Chiefs are just getting all the sad stuff over with. Don't worry, 13-3 isn't bad. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

The Chiefs seem to lack any explosive WRs in their passing game...and still no defense.

Morton and Hall need to step up. It's a terrible sign when your top two receivers are your all-star RB and TE... especially with a QB like Trent Green (he's not a league MVP, but he's got an arm).

As for D, KC's been pretty disappointing this season. Last year they had some weapons (36 sacks, right behind Philly's 38; 25 interceptions; 19 TDs), but this year it's falling apart.

Really really sad...

You can stick a fork in the Chiefs for the 04 season...They are done.

Eagles look good, so do the Seahawks. It is important not to overlook the fact that Andy Reid has merged some pretty damn big ego's and talent into a winning chemistry (which is very hard to do)

Only downer is my ex-Raider (Eagles Fullback Jon Ritchie) is down for the year.

Vikings suck...They would do well in the arena league, but lack the character to go deep into the playoffs...I find it comical that Randy Moss "disapears" every time he lines up against a top teir NFL cornerback...Look at his career stats agaisnt Charles Woodson, he gets shut down everytime. I wish I could get a young Lester Hayes or Mike Haynes on him with their physical "bump & run" coverage style...Rich Gannon I fear has suffered a career killer" (broken kneck) though the man played well the first two games of the season, and showed he had plenty of arm...I love that guy.

I don't know that i'd go so far as to say the Vikings suck(no where near that far in fact!), but i do agree that come playoff time, if they don't have homefield....they're in a whole lot of trouble.

I agree KC is toast. They could make the playoffs, but you don't go 0-3 and then go deep in the playoffs. Just doesn't happen in the NFL.

Well, the Eagles won a sloppy one today by the score of 19-9. 12 Eagles penalties, 2 missed field goals, and a dropped TD pass in the endzone by TE L.J. Smith kept this much, much closer than it should have been. Even still, the score was not indicitave of the total domination by the Eagles throughout. Probably 65% of the Bears offense(and their lone TD) came with under 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter in garbage time.

T.O. snared his league leading 6th TD pass, and went over 100 yards recieving for the second straight week, including a 44 yard deep bomb. Westbrook rushed for 116 yards, and had another 60 or so yards recieving. McNabb threw his 1st int of the year(off a deflection).

The Bears HB K. Johnson, the NFC leading rusher coming into todays game, was totally shutdown, averaging under 3 yards per carry. The Eagles D notched 3 more sacks today(including one by Hugh Douglass). They now have 20 for the season(a pace for 80!!!) Eagles DC Jim Johnson called very few blitzes in today's game.

Boring game, but basicly an easy Eagles win. The Eagles have won every game this season by over 10pts, and have improved their road record over the past four seasons to 27-7(by far the best road record in the NFL over that span).

Some observations of play from around the league...

Giants again looking good, and Warner is again making Martz look oh so stupid(not that that's very hard to do. Martz is an incompetent mad scientist, and the Rams own worst enemy IMO).

Pack has no chance to win the NFC Central, just no semblance of a secondary whatsover. Either the Eagles or the Vikes would score 40+ on that scab of a team.

Indianapolis.......no Defense. Just another pretender year for them.

New England, kudos to the record tying performance, and in my eyes the single biggest threat to an Eagles superbowl title this year. Their D, though a 3-4(Eagles play a 4-3) is very similar in style and philosophy to the Eagles. That philosophy can be summed up in one word: Attack.

An Eagles/Patriots superbowl would be a hell of a matchup. Both teams have serious offense, defense, and special teams. Both teams are coached extremely well.

So i guess that's my prediction....Eagles and Pats in the Super Bowl. Anyone's guess who'd win that game. I think it would come down to who stepped up and made more big plays. Both teams have a plethora of big time big play players on both sides of the ball.

Seattle is to me the only serious threat to the Eagles in the NFC, though i think top to bottom the Eagles have more talent. Still, an excellent matchup.

Good luck to NE next week breaking the record, the Eagles will have a bye.

Indy seems to be the AFC's version of the Vikings...Dome teams can put up fancy stats, but rarely go far in the playoffs, the exception being St Louis of course, but even the Rams get handcuffed when playing a physical defense. KC is done, and really last season was probably a by product of a 3rd place schedule. Kerry Collins should start drinking again, I was against his signing in the first place, and he reminds me to much like Jay Schroeder, Marques Tuiasosopo is a better QB at this point untill/if Gannon returns...

Seattle has a big league running game, and a good QB. If they can stay healthy, and the defense can stay tough they can make some noise...BTW if anybody hasn't noticed "Chuckie" is 0-4....lol

I hate Chuckie.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :)

Correction on the Eagles sack count: They had 4 yesterday(not 3 as i orignally stated), and now have 18 for the season- a pace for 72 sacks(7 more than my prediction of 65). At this stage last season they had only six. Thomas Jones, the NFCs leading rusher going into yesterday was held to 33 yards on 13 carries.

McNabb has now thrown at least one TD in 13 of his last 14 games.

1/4 way stat check:

Donovan McNabb, 110.5 QB rating(best in the NFL), 98-144, 68.1%, 1168yds, 8.11yds/att, 9 TD, 1 INT(projected season total: 392-576, 4,672yds, 36 TD, 4 INT- all world numbers!)

Brian Westbrook, Rushing: 65 att- 347 yards, 5.3 yd avg, 0 TD
Recieving: 24 catches, 206 yards, 8.6 avg, 0 TD
(projected season totals: 1,388 rushing yards, 96 catches for 824 yards- over 2000 yards from scrimmage. Nice. :))

Terrel Owens, 26 catches, 364 yards, 6 TDs(projected season total: 104 catches, 1,464 yards, 24 TDs- * all would be career highs)

Jevon Kearse, 8 tackles, 3 assists, 3 sacks, 1 FF(season: 32 tackles, 12 assists, 12 sacks, 4 FF)

Hugh Douglass, 4 tackles, 2 sacks(season: 16 tackles, 8 sacks. Not bad at all for a part time player).

I liked Chuckie untill he broke my heart in the Super Bowl...

I picked up Westbrook in the 4th round of my fantasy football league draft, looks like I got the steal of the season on that one, he compliments my backfield of Rudi Johnson, Cory Dillon, and Micheal Vick very nicely. Gannon was my QB untill he got "morted"

I also have Philly's defensence and special teams on my roster...

Warthog that was a steal...I thought I was stacked. I got Tori Holt, and Roy Williams, though Jerry Porter has been a disapointment so far in my WR corps...Quinten Griffin could develope well if he cures his "fumbleitis"

Its a little late now, but next year we should start a WT fantasy league. I use the CBS sportsline format (which kicks ass), and we can do the draft via some sort of chat program...I would even be the league commish and get the ball rolling.

I am in a league with some local friends, but we also have a few friends overseas in the military, and we had our draft this year without a hitch. Besides its a good excuse to drink beer, which is always a good thing.

Hey, Bro,
I have a bunch of dudes in my league who aren't that good. I don't think I can lose a game this year. I have Marc Bulger, Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt, Andre Johnson, Eric Moulds, Sean Alexander, LT, Kevan Barlow, Warrick Dunn, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Aaron Stecker, Atlanta D/ST, and Jake Delhomme. As long as I can stay healthy I'm good. If the Rams ever decide to stop scoring I may lose a game or two.
I'm up for a WT league if we can get enough folks. I'm our league commissioner and we use CBS Sportsline too...

Well, Eagles won today 30-8, carrying a shutout until the Panthers scored on fourth down with 2:30 remaining in the game. Westbrook responded by breaking a 44 yard touchdown run on the ensuing Eagles drive, lol.

TO caught 4 passes for about 130 yards, and the Eagles D had four picks, including two by CB Lito Sheppard. The Eagles also tacked on three sacks today. The Eagles now have 14 players with a Sack, which leads the NFL by a wide margin. 10 of the 11 Eagles starters on D have at least 1 sack.

LOL, Carolina Panthers........speedbump.

The Eagles are now only the second team in the last 30 years to win their first five games by 10+ points. The other team? The Super Bowl champion 1999 Rams.

What happened to Seattle? LOL.

Patriots roll, AGAIN.

Looking like a Philly, NE superbowl....what a game that'd be. :)

Great game wasn't it 30-8 so nice, I'm really enjoying seeing our Eagles destroy the competition.
