This is my first post here so first of all, Hello everybody! I've ventured here occasionaly from references on the LockOn forums and have found it interesting and informative, great site!

Now, on to my question. Coming into work today (11/09/04) at about 1945Z (1345L) two A10's crossed over heading north at about 500', wingman about 4000' behind and left of the leader. This may not seem unusual to most of you but this was about 30 miles west of Indianapolis on I-70. The two nearest bases are the 181st at Terre Haute and the 121st at Fort Wayne, both F-16 units. A10's are pretty rare around here. Anybody here have any idea where these guys might have been out of? It sure was a beautiful sight!

Thanks!

I would agree with that, but 500' isn't all that fuel effecient of an altitude for a cross country flight.

My guess would be they were from Battle Creek. Probably doing a cross country flight to one of those guard units.

Thanks guys, I didn't reallize Battle Creek had A-10's. They were probably heading home from the Atterbury range south of Indy.

Thanks again for helping satisfy my curiousity.
