9-1, and the Eagles just keep rolling.

Today, they ravaged the #2 defense in the league for 28 points, winning 28-6.

Eagles run D held C.Portis to 37 yards on 17 carries(2.1 per carry).
McNabb threw four more TDs.
Owens scored his league leading 13th TD reception, and the Eagles other WR T.Pinkston caught over 100yds of passes.

Westbrook had a solid game with 140 total yards and 2 rec. TD.

Next up...the Giants.

That should be another 150-3 final, lol.

Gotta eat my words about Eagles run D. They looked great. They're by far the best in the NFC across the board. That being said, I'm now officially rooting against the Browns for their last 6 games. Playing for draft position now. Defense looked good again...offense is horrid...

Browns were really hurt when Winslow went down.

The Eagles made a big change on their Defense last week for the dallas game, benching OLB Nate Wayne and moving MLB Simoneau outside, and starting J. Trotter in the middle.

Trotter is an all-pro caliber player, it shocked me they waited so long to make the change. The Eagles D should be much better against the run for the rest of the year now.

Barring serious injury to Westbrook, McNabb or Owens the Eagles are a lock to make the Superbowl. Whoever faces the Eagles in the NFC championship game this year is going to be CRUSHED.

It would be nice to see a new NFL champ. Though I usually pull for the AFC in the Super Bowl, I would not be opposed to the Eagles winning it all. They're darn good. Would love to see Pitt-Philly again...

Well the superbowl will be hard to win for the Eagles.

Pats are a better complete team.

I'm not really sold on Pitt yet, i want to see them as teams build up some film on the new QB. I think he's playing over his head so far.

They are one injury to Bettis from being an average offensive team IMO. He's having a brilliant season so far. I also think the Eagles played their worst game of the season(on our end of things) against them. McNabb really played poorly in that game too, which most certainly did not help.

Eagles smoked the hapless Giants 27-6, are 10-1 now, and they boys in green just keep rolling.

The Eagles just clinched their fourth straight Div. title, and A.Reid just tied G.Neale as the Eagles all-time winningest coach.

Next up, Green Bay.

Sorry Brett, but we're gonna have to send ya home losers- again. ;)

If it's Pats-Eagles in the Bowl, which seems likely, Dillon may be the difference maker. He has six 100+ yard games in just 10 games, and if the Eagles have a weakness it is their run defense in my view, especially when facing big power backs like Dillon.

We'll see.

One thing is for sure. The AFC is light years better than the NFC this year. The AFC playoffs will be a real treat this year.

The Pats are probably a bit more than the Eagles can handle, but there're still 5 games left, plus the playoffs. Injuries will be the key, as always.

Eagles and Pats both have lots of injuries. The Pats secondary as currently configured would get utterly torched by the Eagles pass offense, but C. Dillon would probably do just as much damage to the Eagles D.

Time will tell, but i can't wait to find out. ;)

Some interesting snippets i've learned upon reading the local Philly papers today:

Since 2000, the Eagles are the winningest team in the NFL(yes, that includes the Patriots)

Since 2000, the Eagles road record is an NFL best 30-8(Wow)

If the eagles win just one more game this season, they will become only the third team in NFL history to record 11 or more wins 5 seasons in a row. You may have heard of the other two....the 49ers of the 80s, and the Cowboys of the 90s.

Before Andy Ried became coach of the Eagles, the Eagles had won just three division titles since 1950. They have now won four in a row.

Since the league expanded to a 16 game schedule in 1978, the Eagles are just the third team to clinch their division in 11 games. The other two were the 1997 49ers and the 1985 Bears.

The Eagles are 8-0 in Conference games, winning all eight by double digits.

In four divisional games this year the Eagles have outscored the opposition 135-50.

Since losing to Pitt, the Eagles only loss of the year, they have outscored the opposition 104-33.

The Eagles will make thier 5th straight playoff appearance this year, the only team in this decade to accomplish that feat.

Andy Reids record as head coach is 66-34, with 13 of those losses coming in his first season. Since his second season the Eagles are 63-21.

Andy Reid tied as the most winningest coach in Eagles history 15 games faster than the man he shares the title with, G.Neale. Neale won two NFL Titles during his tenure as Eagles head coach in the 40s.

Quite a team, quite a coach.

The Steelers gave the Eagles their toughest game, Cleveland the next toughest, and the Ravens the third.

The Vikings aren't even a blip on the Eagles radar. You really need to let that crap go.

This season, the Eagles have scored 2 more points than the Vikes, while surrendering 96 LESS.

If the Vikes somehow survive to play in Philly in the Championship(they won't, but just to humor you), the Vikings will lose by 3 touchdowns.

They aren't even in the same stinkin' league as the Eagles. The last time the two teams played, the Eagles should've slapped the Vikes upside the head with 41pts. Your team got out of here lucky to have not been totally humiliated.

I can only hope the Vikes make it.

If they do, i predict a final score of 35-17 Eagles. I'm being generous.

The Northeast is having a great football year. Steelahs, Eagles and the Bahston er New England Patriots. I love the hardnosed yet explosive styles of all those teams. Reminds me alot of the 1980's NFC East...Buddy Ball, Parcells & Gibbs...

Careful, bighog... Vette ain't the only Purple People Eater around these parts.

The Vikes are still playing half-assed, but they're finding ways to put the W's together again. If they can get their backfield back to 90-100% and tighten the screws on their secondary, I think they'll definitely pull some surprises outta their bag for the NFC North as well as the rest of the NFL.

Previous to this year McNabbs best reciever was WR James Thrash.

Culpepper has been throwing to Moss since he was a rookie. Culpepper also plays in a windless dome.

Therefore, statistical comparisons between the two are irrelevant.

C'mon, Snipe... that's like saying that if the 49ers had a QB like McNabb, a receiver core like Owens/Pinkston/etc., a RB like Westbrook, and a defense like the Eagles have, that they'd probably be 10-1 as well, instead of sitting alone in last place...

BUT SINCE THEY DON'T, you can't compare the Niners' and the Eagles' stats (and wins/losses are stats too). So basically the 49ers and the Eagles are probably on par with each other.

Culpepper also had Cris Carter, a legendary receiver (and part of the undisputed greatest receiver tandem at the time along with Moss until he went to Miami), for his first two seasons. Dennis Green had built the team (even though he couldn't coach them into the Superbowl), and Culpepper (while an obviously exceptional QB) basically had a ready-made offense at his disposal. McNabb also had everything in place for him, with players like Duce Staley, Chad Lewis, and Thrash (in '01).

You can't brush aside the fact that these two QBs are fairly evenly matched in most areas. Give Culpepper Philly's O-line and you'd see even more points on the board. Move Philly's defense into the Metrodome with some purple jerseys and you'd see a 13-3 or 14-2 season for the Vikes year-in and year-out.

Three areas that consistently keep the Vikings out of contention for Lombardi trophies:

1) Offensive line (we know Minnesota has a deep backfield, and Culpepper's one of the most mobile and eager-to-run QBs out there, but when he's setting up a pass play he shouldn't HAVE to rely on his legs to make the play 90% of the time)
2) Injuries/Suspension (if it's not your all-star receiver, it's your drug-suspended RB, or your other two injured RBs, or your D-line, or your linebackers, or your... oh, you get the idea)
3) No Defensive cohesion (Minnesota D has struggled for YEARS, with decent players stepping into the spotlight as individuals but lacking team strength as a whole... I keep waiting to see an entire draft dedicated exclusively to the protective side of the pigskin, but apparently Tice and Co. can't seem to stay away from the offense)

There's probably something else I wanted to say, but I've forgotten by now. Frustration has set in... grr...

"If the weather is inclement and the passing games are hindered, I'll take the Culpepper and the Vikes rushing trio over the Eagles defense to score more points than Donovan and the Eagles ground game against the Vikes defense."

You've GOT to be kidding me?

Westbrook is averaging almost 5 yards a carry, and D.Levens is averaging 4.4

Not only that, the Eagles defense is vastly superior to Minnesota's.
