As far as the O line, the Eagles have made this run missing their #1 pick at right guard, without All Pro LG J.Mayberry for three games, and without backup guard A.Hicks for two games. Starting FB john Ritchie has been out since week 4, and will miss the whole year. The Eagles have a converted LB playing FB now. The Eagles also lost backup running back Correl Buckhalter in week 1, and 3d string running back Reno Mahe(who is actually very skilled) has missed the last 3 games.

There're guys suiting up and playing O line for the Eagles that no one's ever heard of playing well. It's because Reid knows talent, and the Eagles O line coach can actually coach.

The Eagles have had all kinds of injuries on offense and special teams this year.

"Duce Staley, Chad Lewis, and Thrash (in '01)."

I'll give ya Duce Staley(though he was always hurt) and 2 time pro bowler C.Lewis, but Thrash?

C'mon....he's mediocre at best. This is the first year McNabb has EVER had a threat at WR in this offense.

McNabb, Culpepper...Good QB's though I rate McNabb higher on my "grit chart" Leadership and toughness is the single most important quality for a QB, and thats why Brett Favre is tops on my list. McNabb leading his team to victory with a broken leg, Elway diving headfirst for the first down in the Super Bowl...Really, to be honest Culpepper has shown me nothing of the like.

In the last three weeks since J.Trotter has moved to the starting lineup the Eagles run D has gone from 29th to 20th.

Also, look who the Eagles have played. The Steelers, Ravens, Panthers and the Giants twice. All are run first teams. So are the Redskins, but the Eagles D surrendered only 37 yards rushing to Portis.

Regardless, the true measure of defensive prowess is POINTS ALLOWED, the Eagles have given up almost 100 points LESS than minnesota, while also outscoring the vikes.

The Eagles have 5 pro-bowlers on defense- the Vikings have none.

The Eagles D is vastly superior to that of the Vikes.

The Vikings have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season, that ought to worry you terribly.

The Vikings are a mediocre team.

chadrewsky - watch the next Vikings game, and count the number of times that Culpepper slides feet-first versus bowling into the defensive backs while he's rushing with the football. He could easily take the "slide and not get hurt" approach that many QBs do, but instead he uses his sizeable frame to push for the extra yardage.

And the reason that you haven't seen the "broken leg" heroics is that, thankfully (knock-on-wood) Culpepper hasn't been seriously hurt anytime lately.

Culpepper fumbles too much.

Until he gets that taken care of McNabb gets the nod by default.

The true measure of a starting QB is wins. I dare you to compare McNabb's winning % and record as a starter vs Culpeppers. I guarantee you won't like the comparison.

I am not anti Viking by any means...I used to be a big Tommy Kramer fan, but...There are certain teams that have good regular seasons and fold in the post season...The Chiefs and Vikes fit that mold, as do my Raiders of recent years...

Culpepper just does not impress me much...

Nice try, but the Eagles have beaten the Vikings and Ravens, and Crushed the Giants when they had a winning record. Detroit also had a winning record when the Eagles beat them, and i believe Carolina did too.

Comparing stats between McNabb and Culpepper are irrelevant because until this year Culpepper had much better weapons at his disposal.

That's just a fact.

Of course the Vikings problem is not their offense.....but their defense.

It sucks.

Not only that, but the Vikings got CRUSHED at home vs a team that the Eagles have crushed twice by a combined score of 58-23.

I'd chalk Daunte's SLIGHTLY better numbers this year up to his greater familiarity with his recievers, and the Vikings offensive scheme.

McNabb is constantly going deep, those are low % passes, so they of course hurt his QB rating even though he completes quite a few of them. One of his favorite targets- L.J. Smith also drops a lot of passes, and that sure don't help either.

I'd gladly take EITHER of them....except that Culpepper is a fumbling machine. In a cold weather game his penchant for fumbling is just going to be magnified.

And what's the Vikes record in outdoor games over the last two years now? 2-22 or something? Yikes...the Eagles play outdoors dude. ;)

Agree with you on Manning- but i never defended him as some great QB. He's really good- sure, but a lot of QBs would be just as good in that offense, with that RB and playing behind that line.

all this talk about the viking and eagles is great, but kinda pointless, the eagles have been looked at as the second best team in football all season, the vikings are barely a blip on the highlight reel. not lets talk about the champs. i am a huge eagles fan, but i am a bigger PATS fan. nobody, and i mean nobody is gonna beat the pats, brady is the best qb in a hurry, and his calmess is the pocket is rivaled only by the great payton manning. cory dillon is a machine, and ty law is gonna come back with such a fire in his ass that opposing offenses are absolutly screwed...and nobody, PATS fan or not, can argue that. the only competition they have in the afc is the steelers, and i think the next time around the pats will be out for blood head coach BB will not lets PITT mess with his boys again. and as far as the bowl...PHILI will be a very hard game, but the pats are just tougher...2004 SUPER BOWL CHAMPS...THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!!
get used to it

just sit back, and let the 30mm do the work!!!

If the pats go to Pitt for the title game they'll be lucky to get out of there alive.

weak...simply weak! rothlesburger has done very good this year, but is still a rookie, he cannot hold up to the experienced pats in a big game. their recieving will be held to nothing, and bettis just isn't good enough to overcome the best swarming defense out there. their win on the pats was a fluke and the pats just had to lose eventually...well no more my friends...no more

just sit back, and let the 30mm do the work!!!

Stats don't mean jack...Only stat that means anything is Super Bowl jewelry...Jim Plunkett has two rings, 1 pro bowl appearance, and a career completion percentage around 50%...I still rate him higher than Dan Marino...Its all about wins and losses and championships...McNabb and Culpepper are not elite QB's untill they lead their team to the show, and win it...Jimmy MacMahon is one of the best all time QB's, tough as snot and a Super Bowl ring in 85...His career stats blow untill you look at his won/loss record as a starter...Really does anything else matter?

ok that is simply ignorant, almost not worth a response!! there have been many elite QB's with no rings...do your home work then speak!

just sit back, and let the 30mm do the work!!!

If they don't have a ring then by definition they're not 'elite'.

Nope, Marino was not an elite QB.

No rings.

Sorry dude, the Eagles have won THREE NFL titles.

Vikings have zero. When is it you're saying the Vikes won a title?
