I got email from Don "Donno" Logan, author of A-10 THUNDERBOLT II, A PICTORIAL HISTORY, that he's working on a new A-10 book, soft cover, 160 page 300+ action photos. He sent me a copy of the proposed cover...

Don's still selling copies of his first book...

...which chronicles, with over 450 color photos, the story of the A-10, including program history, the aircraft paint schemes, all units operating the aircraft and their markings, and selected nose art and ladder door art. Over 100 colorful official and unofficial patches of the units and combat operations involving the A-10 are included. Kill markings and units taking part in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and the conflict in Bosnia are covered. The book also includes a description of the aircraft, its systems, and weapons.

Signed ones are $40.00 including postage (Media Mail) to addresses in the US. Anyone interested can contact Donno directly at 469phantom@cox.net. He also has a web site, http://www.donloganbooks.com/, but he says it is quicker to contact him at the email address above.

Donno's a really great guy and a hero to boot, check out his bio on his web site.

Cheers! M2

Anybody have info on how to get a good deal on either of those two books? The pictorial history has become a necessity for me and my upcomming projects.

Most New Year's resolutions have about as much chance as if they were drafted and enforced by the UN.

Horrido, good deal, I don't know but, if you go to Don's website and order one I belive the $40 you pay for a siigned copy IS a good deal for what you get. Also if you read Ms's post the second book is not on the shelf yet.

Thanks Goose....I'm working on it!

Sorry Goose, didn't see your question until now. Unfortunately, it may be a couple of years before new book is out. It will pick up where the last one left off, or as Don wrote "just after Desert Storm, at about the same time the Idaho ANG got their Hawgs..." so you can see he still has a lot of ground to cover (Kosovo, OEF, OIF). Still, it is one to look forward to!

Horrido, email Donno at 469phantom@cox.net and he will send you a signed copy of his first book for $40, which includes postage. I saw the same book, unsigned, for almost double that at Duxford. Don actually sells signed copies for less, even though they are worth more, and he is a hell of a great guy to deal with. Unfortunately, as I am at an APO address, it is taking my copy a little longer to get here than usual.

Cheers! M2

Already nabbed one for $34.00 the evening I made the post. Would have been nice to have the sig for $40.00, but not critical for my needs. Thanks, though!

Just an update, Don's book arrived today and I couldn't put it down! It is an amazing historical pictoral of the Hawg (and lots of patch pics, so that's gravy), and anyone who doesn't have a copy doesn't know what they are missing. I can't wait for his second book to come out!

Cheers! M2

I lucked-out and the folks I ordered from fell-through, so I dropped Don a line and got a signed copy from him. This book is definitely a centerpiece of any A-10 literary collection! Thanks for the heads-up, guys, it's MUCH appreciated!

Dammit, Snipe, you are not talking your way out of this one; the kids caught you fair and square, so grant them their three wishes and hand over your pot of gold!
