Hi Gents!

I was wondering what hawgsmoke's competition is all about. What exactly are the individual pilots being graded on?

The good folks at lockonskins.co.uk are hosting a Campaign AirWar where imaginary red and blue forces are pitted against each other. What is special about this is that its not a squad vs. squad thing but, there are actually five squads per side. The name of the game is to work with other squads as well as possible. So, basically its a dynamic campaign run by a bunch of people with ten different virtual squads flying the sorties.

Now the idea cropped up to have a hog competition within the blue team, and one thing leading to another hawgsmoke came to my mind. If we were to mimic the things pilots at hawgsmoke must do, what they are graded on, what the tasks etc are, how would one go about doing that?

Obviously in the campaign we fly lockon's A-10's along with a bunch of other aircraft, but this would be strictly an A-10 friendly competition within our blue team to see who really is the king of king's in the hog.

Any and all help with the details to what the tasks are, and how the grading works etc is very much appreciated!

If I remember the thread when Hogsmoke was first brought up, one of the competitions was arriving on a set scheduled time.

Of course a bombing competition at the range, not sure how you would ever do that in Lomac?

At my last look at LOMAC (quite some time ago due to it's condition), there was the capability of making a "practice bombing range" with the mission editor. Perhaps that is what this thread was started for. Just my guess.

Well the competition is all inclusive. Yes there was an arrival competition. I think it was Osan who was the most unique. Something like 4 ship of route combat trail, and trail up initial. Don't quote me on Osan. Then there are events on the range and there are a lot of rules. Time on final, use of CCIP or stand by pipper, blah blah blah. Then a crud tourny afterwards. The link in the previous post I think says it all. Basically it is bombs, bullets, and this year (theoretically) mav on targets with lots of possible pitfalls.

Thanks for the reply's gents!

I dont remember seeing a practice bombing range in lockon. You can certainly make your own missions, and place static objects onto the map so that is not a problem. Basically im looking for some description to exactly how a certain leg of the competition is run. For instance; takeoff procedures (graded on?) transit to target area (graded on?) actual bombing: segments for CCIP and CCRP or pilots choosing? What about come off of target, is that graded on? Are there simulated ground threats? What about minimum altitude? Is there differences there?

So lots of questions, that i guess only somebody who has been there knows.. hardly opsec though.
