Anyone from Willow Grove 103 FS here? I work with a guy who is looking for a USN bud who used to (and may still) fly there. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide.

Cheers! M2

Thunderstruck

Don't have a name yet, he just asked if I could get in touch with someone at Willow Grove. I figured this forum would be my best bet. Can I email you tomorrow?

Cheers! M2

Sure thing bro. I rechecked my listed E-mail address on the profile and it is correct. I haven't been on here in a while, glad I checked on if I can ask around and help your buddy out.

Be advised, to my knowledge we don't have any former Navy drivers currently flying at the 103rd. We do have a prior Marine, and he's the only one wearing Navy/Marine wings of gold and flying the hog with us. I can ask some of the older hands about anyone who may have been here prior to 1999. Let me know.

Jack, I am at the grove, getting ready for ORI hell.

Tell Sgt Rowland Jack from tech school says Hi.

Is he a CC or other? If he is other, let me know what shop he works in and I'll make sure I say hello for you.

Is he traditional guard or a full-timer? Often the only time I bump into traditional CCs is when they are launching or recovering us.

Let me know.

Sir,

I got your E-mail, and figured I'd just let you know on here since I've been busier than the standard one-each one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest...

Thing is, the Navy doesn't fly Learjets out of the Grove anymore. I've been asking around, trying to find your friend's buddy, but for lack of a better explanation the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Guard might as well be on different planets even though we're at the same base. I'm thinking maybe your friend's bud is flying the VC-9s, or whatever the Navy calls them.

I've put in some calls with full-time buddies of mine there, I'll let you know what I come up with.

Yes, sir!

Hope all is well in the land of Tigers and Sharks. I've been DNIF since last August, and my problems have been on going for about a year now. I also hate working for civilian corporate dickweeds.

Other than that stuff, doing fine. I'd like to give you a call sometime and catch up. Good news is I get to go back to the RTU once I'm off DNIF, with any luck it will be DM this time around. Bad news is I don't know when I will be off DNIF.

Uh-oh. Sounds like you may be someplace where you are not surrounded by Hogs. I hope you're still getting some stick time.

I'll drop you a line soon.

Pyle
