Well... the other we had a rare treat. Cadets from our sisture instution from Ecole Polytechnique. and yes that was french<img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle>. I had a chance to talk to him about their school and much to my disappointment there is a lack of military in their military school.Even though he was a freshmen I would expect him to have worn his uniform atleast once. But no the frist full day he has worn his unifrom is here at VMI. Not at school, not everyday going to class as I have, but while visiting a military school in America! he Said that they spend all there day in civilian cloths. Some excuse for a military school.
I will not say that it is regreatable that our sister institution is French <img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle>. because at the time we were founded, 1839, Napolion was just defeted and the French <img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle> did some number on europe. And we didn't like england to much. But with that being said that was the past. and today we are stuck with French<img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle> cadets who haven't one lick of military in them even though they go to a military school, no wonder they lose!
So today my hispanic roommate, from porto rico, was asked by the frenchy <img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle>, what Americans thought of them and I believe the responce was both poinent and insightful,
"Well... I don't know if you know this but most people around here think you're cowards. "
