Had a great time last night going to see Velvet Revolver with my daughter Missy (15 years old). Hoobastank opened the show with a short set of around 40 minutes. I’m not a big fan of them but, they were high energy and played some songs I knew so it was OK.

After a long intermission (around 40 more minutes) RV hit the stage and rocked the house! Slash is still the leader of this group and one of the best guitarist playing today. The light show is so, so, but, the mixing of live action with video effects on the two big screens is outstanding.

The lead singer Scott Weiland (STPs old front man) reminded me of a mix between Freddy Mercury and Mick Jagger. He came out wearing a hat I swear he stole from Freddy and he struts like Mick but, sings like no one else I’ve heard, good mix IMHO. He has a couple of unique tricks like singing into a bull-horn and at one point ended-up on the floor singing on the shoulders of the fans.

By far the pillar of this band is Slash and he played hard and fast last night. The rest of the group is also high energy and mix to make a good show. I give they a 71/2 out of 10.

BTW Sniper I’m working on the hair, don’t known how long I will let it grow but the short days are over!

Thanks Racegal. I hate my hair now because it's been short for so long, as it grows, all it wants to do is stand straght-up...I look like a dust-buster!!
