Well the BC looks great! You'll have to re-wash a little on the #1 nacelle and get the rest of that APU exhaust grime so it'
s up to BC standards!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

DOH ! They should feel privileged to have donated an old nacelle to our airplane Goose.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

The structural guys are going to paint it Thursday after I finish washing it. It is kinda funny though. It is certainly one for Dice's scrap books.

I hated wash rack, being soaked with that PD680 all day you could wash your hair just with water, then having to lube her with QA waiting to do an EVAL, sucked!

After you wash a jet it gets water trapped in the many orifices, many of them critical areas where parts move against one another. In order to force out the trapped water, you do a post wash lube (iaw 1a-10a-6wc-7). You grease the grease fitings and oil the piano hinges on the lader door and geared servo tabs.It forces out the trapped water and keeps, or at least helps keep corosion out.

Oh yeah.......Well I'm a tomcat guy and your a homo !

Speaking of washing the hogs, how often do you have to do this? There were 3 MA planes up here last week and I was out on the ramp with them. I've never seen so much gun smoke residue before.

Thats not alot of Gun residue, looks more like lube stains from the gun.
When its solid from front to back, thats a stain.
TopGun if I remember right its 60 or 90 days but depending on where you are stationed it could be less, due to saltwater,etc....

No Goose thats gun gas.Back in Aviano in 94 ......or was it 95 ? Anyhoo in Aviano we had a bad lot of HEI and one of our guns blew up. Apparently it was bad powder so they suspended the lot. Well they decided to shoot it out last month. My jet......sorry Goose I mean our jet, shot out a whole drum of HEI in one sortie. It was awfull. The soot was literally like a coat of solid film on the leading edges of the slats and the left engine pylon. He flew back from Drum in the rain and so it made the little black rivers all along the sides. My wash was overdue by almost two months which made it dirtier. Oh yeah and then we disconnected the hydraulic lines in the left nacelle to take it off, all the maintenance of puting it back up. What a mess. I just had a three day wash and I cant remember a more labor intensive wash ever that I have done. I was just physically tired when I got done.

Oh yeah.......Well I'm a tomcat guy and your a homo !

At Pope and Osan they were every 60 days, here at Eielson every 90 days.

Billy,

Shooting all those "PARTY MIX LOADS" everyday left a grease mark from the gun back and then the oil well fires its was just like "Glue"
I had a Hell'va time keeping the Teeth clean and stuff, but before we deployed I had put on 2 coats of fresh wax I bought off of TV back then on the teeth and using WW bottles could wipe them clean.
The jet was a mess though

But that had to be a bad lot of ammo to leave that crap on her.
Its tough keeping a jet clean, but back then we had the manning to do it. Not like today when it seems there's not enough troops.

You may also see some gun gas patterns you're not use to seeing because of the IFFCC mod, by removing the reverce-scoops the gases exit a bit differntly than it did with the scoops. Also because the jet is gray you can see the gas better on the aircraft than if it was still in the Euro scheme(s).

Yeah I did notice that Dice but never attributed it to the absence of the scoop.

Correction I believe it was every 90 days at Pope and here at Eielson it is every 120 days. BTW, that jet is spotless, especially when compared to our jets here.
