Hawg (and others), don't know if you got the word but Bradley lost a crew dog this weekend. Msgt Rollie Cyr died Sunday. He was a former weapons troop who cross trained to the Flight line career field. Great guy, he'll be missed.

Billy and a few of the guys were able to make it to the funeral and services today. I was hoping to join also, but unfortunately one of my good friends growing up passed away this past weekend and the services for him were today also so I had the obligation to attend those. The passing of Rollie came as a complete shock to all of our crew chiefs who worked with him and deployed with him back for OIF in 2003. It is truly a sad loss for everyone that knew him, especially on the flightline. <img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yeah Chief we were pretty saddened by his passing. The worst part is as a Crew Chief he was a huge loss to the unit even with the impending shutdown. A few of the barnes crew chiefs and myself made sure to go to the funeral and burial. I felt bad the unit tried to give Rollie a fly by but the ceiling didnt cooperate. There must have been 200, maye 250 blue suiters there which was impressive. He had a full military funeral. On a higher and funnier note, it was so Rollie to always have a toothpick in his mouth. After the funeral was over and the family cleared away from the casket, you could see it resting there on top, a toothpick on top of his casket. So fitting, rest well.

That's awesome Billy and you're right, so very fitting. I couldn't make the service though I did make it to the wake. Got there around 7, the line was out the building and I was told it had been like that since 5. What was perhaps the most amazing thing was the people that showed up, from Generals, both retired and active, to two stripers. The man touched a lot of people, myself included.
