On an entirely different note, it looks like the talking heads are the only ones that think Mike Martz is a genius

I hate Martz...The guy reminds me of my last insurance salesman. I was extremely relieved that Martz pulled himself out of consideration for the Raidah's head coaching slot. I do think Martz, like Norv Turner is a very effective playcaller, they just both lack the cojoneles to be a good head coach.

Entertaining game so far. Pitt better find a way to get it together in the 2d half, they are extremely lucky to be winning.

Seattle continues to impress.

JEEZE did the Hawks hire Martz as a clock management consultant?!?!? The ends of both halves were horribly handled!

Agreed.

And someone, please.........tell me how that was holding on the play that would have put Seattle on the 1 yard line, poised to go up 17-14?

The pass interference on the Seattle TD in the first quarter was pretty mickey mouse, but at least by the letter of the rule book it was a push off, even if ever so slight.

But that 'hold'; when they showed the replay all that was in evidence was absolutely text book blocking.

If i was a Seattle fan, i would be a very bitter camper right about now, and i would feel very robbed.

Tbat was as close to a 'tainted' a Super Bowl 'victory' as i've seen in 30 years of watching the NFL.

Oh well, congratulations to the Steelers....lol.

I wanted to see that hold from a different angle, it was a slight hook from what I could see, maybee ticky-tack maybee not.

I saw absolutely nothing resembling a hold. Guess i missed it...

I did see Hines ward hold on the last Pitt first down when they were running the clock out though. Pretty blatant. Also on that same drive with the phantom hold S. Alexander was horsecollared in an obvious fashion, and that wasn't called either.

Terrible officiating.

I hate it when the refs call these games tight. I mean you want to do a good job, but there are time when they "over officiate". Let em play ball. Either way, Pittsburgh controlled the clock late, and Seattle couldn't step up in the 4th Qtr. Questionable officiating or not, Pittsburgh made the big plays and deserved to win. I would say that the monkey is off of Cowher's back. Seattle is young, maybe they can be back again soon.

The "horse-collering" penalty virtually doesnt exist, it's such a specific penalty that I dont think it will ever be called.

I didn't like the Pitt touchdown that was reviewed! I wasn't really rooting for either team but I think that needed to be called back. Oh well. After the score went 21 to whatever I started playing Hold 'Em. Made $15!!

Horsecollar was just added this year for exactly that type of tackle, after owens and several other players were seriously hurt last year, namely by Roy Williams of Dallas.

It's illegal, and a 15yd personal foul. And it was blatant.

the restrictions for calling the "horsecollar" are such that I dont think it has been called this year and probobly wont be ever unless they loosen the body contact portion of the rule.

I don't think it should have been called a touchdown to begin with. The ball may had barely crossed the plane at the top of his dive, but it was hard to tell. But...It was called a touchdown on the field, and the review did not show a clear cut replay that ball did not cross the plane. Thus the touchdown stood, as it should have.

Bad calls are part of the game, just as bad weather, and unruley fans. You don't pin losses on them, you cuss at them, deal with them, and move on...
