Alphakilo,

Saw the pics of your last ride at CNA. Just so happens that I was there and was probably a witness to your return from your last flight. Did you get hosed down? I left CNA in 1977. Was there 4 years and it was my best assignment ever.

Col,

I couldnt make out the Insignia on the wing I was going by the Numbers.

Nice looking Starfighter., I think I'd like to have had a tour on those baby's.
I guess the next best thing was when I was TDY with the JSDAF let me launch one and watch them do an engine change. Pretty cool.

Goose........

My 2 years in Aviano, Dec 80 - Dec 82, I worked a ton of the 104's.......Italian, Canadian, German....great acft!
I always enjoyed working on em when I got a chance!

Best flyby I think I ever saw was a Canadian 4 ship of Starfighters.
They hit the approach end of the runway, having to raise up over the perimeter fence, then back down a bit as they crossed the runway.
Those guys were literally "on the deck" balls to the wall!

Dutch Starfighters, that is before I was old enough and get intrested in airplanes. Lucky for me was Italy so kind to fly with those dinosaurs of planes till two years ago. Yes they are impressive.
warthopg64, you make nice pictures.

this is probably a dumb question, but what was the reasoning for the change away from the Green Camo versions to the Grey?<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

the grey has less IR signature than the green apparently..

oh and some nice pics here <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

ThePatriot, what a great picture of the flying Wolfhound. Did you taken it by yourself? And where is the location, not the Netherlands. We have no mountains. You worked by the 32nd. Sometimes I go to Soesterberg airmuseum and outside stands a F-15 with the name of the last commander Hodgekin. The colours are not so bright anymore of the plane, but mine memory of watching and spotting Soesterberger F-15's is still clear.

my understanding it that during the bulkan's campaign the starfighter were better suited to being emergency interceptors than the f-16 had the serbs decided to strike at nato in itally. Something to do with the time it took to get the avionics on line and airborne is that correct.

Am I the only one who sees these posers? Maybe I just need to quit reading profiles.

Are you sure it was this thread? I meant to ask who it was you were referring to being a poser?

Good question and I don't know the answer. Did the Patriot delete his own post?
