It doesn't even mention they are augmentees (guest help) for another unit.

Not to nitpick, but there are a few innacuracies in that article.
1) The B-huts sleep 8. Some have bunkbeds and are pretty crowded right now with some of us from Eielson still here also (but not for long!)
2) AAFES does not run the chow hall, KBR does.
3) A difference of opinion, really: <i>"In my opinion, it’s a huge improvement over the past few years in that we have a full-up facility to work out of."</i> Well, in my opinion, I would give anything, <i>anything</i>, to be back here in 2002 again with the 75th. Anything. Nothing this time is better.

They say that the only two things certain in life are death and taxes. I prefer them in that order.

I think its odd that names have been published in that article, in the various Balkan deployments/conflicts for example pilots were referred to by callsigns in interviews.
Does this deployment tie-in with the 'Panthers'?.......edit.yes it does, just read a later new's item.

I'm the last one here that should say anything about Grammar But,

Who ever wrote that article and posted it needs to check it over better for errors.
Im alot of places the word "Reserveist"(ok) its followed by a "QUESTION MARK ?"
If I didnt know anything about whats happening I t would lead me to believe " Does this Reporter Know Who's there?"

I would also have to Agree with BITS on the using of "Names and positions with pictures"
Gee thats pretty much OPSEC isnt it?If you use the name you dont put a piture next to it,Their position. They can figure out their a Pilot looking at the Flight suit.
Call Signs should be really the only thing until they get home or in a Article without pictures.

Just for the record or some back ground Dice or you History Buffs.
When the 74th and 76th deployed we pretty much mustard every Aircraft we had and Person.
After awhile with the loss due to Sickness,Family or other issues plus retirements the 75th had folks who "Volunteered" to take members places on the list.

We even had a 75th Jet with us in Red. Their was a order from somewhere up the command to "Take off the 75th tail and make it RED"
Well it might sound silly or trivial but the 75th Guys " Got Mad!"
Us Crew Dawg's in the 76th got MAD TOO! that it was "A Black Tail " and their here with us doing their job along with us and it would be an insult!"
But we had Good leaders Who after hearing about how it was felt in the Maintance Complex ,"Stopped it" and she flew the whole war with her Colors intact.
It was a "TEAM" (oh I hate that word) more of a "Family" is better that we had.
So I dont think its any differant today then then, I hope not because it would sure be a "Sad day"
The Officer who made the call on "Not taking the Colors off the 75th jet was a Certain "Major Gen" " working at Central command "
"SUN DOWER" or "VANGUARD 1" whichever you choose.

Just IMHO.

Then guess what KC ? You are just as CT was a glorified augmentee. Thats why I am so glad we are always lead unit. No indentured servitude here. But what are you pissed about Whiteman is a great unit. A lot better than some of the others and you guys have been ahead of the pack in some not so long gone ops. You took the pod right after we did to OIF and you took it to H1 (I will always hold that grudge because we wanted to go.) Lighten up man you guys are keepin your jets. We suck we wont deploy with A-10's again. If you dont want to go as a backfill unit, I know an assload of crew chiefs from Barnes that do, so lets swap.
