Nice pictures, but where (Edwards, but where on that base) and when are the pictures made? I saw it 8 years ago in the dessert on Edwards with a see thru cockpit (no dark glass) and not so clean and painted as now.

I don't care how many times I see that thing, that is just wierd to look at <img src=newicons/anim_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>. They did a pretty good job cleaning it up though. I just wonder if they are just prepping it up to place on a stick somewhere.
Personally I think it would look good down @ D-M in their freedom park, or at least somewhere where a big A-10 community might enjoy it a little more instead of the middle of a desert at Edwards.

It looks much better than the last pictures I saw of it. It's a damn shame that jet just sitting there. I think that about every jet I've ever seen on static display though.

Maybe a better plan for Edwards. They have a museum (not for visiting for everybody, it is behind the gate on the site where also testplanes are placed. That was it 8 years ago). Maybe the should placed the museum in front of the airbase outside the gate with their intresting and rare and strange planes.
Even better than this. Place the A-10b version in the airforce museum in Dayton. They have more (test-) planes what never was in service in the airforce (think about F-107 for example).

The old girl does look like she's had a face-lift and not looking bad at all. I would also like to see her somewhere near a large A-10 community but, I don't see Edwards giving she up.

Coach, did they ever get that YA-10A up on a stick at Langley?

This is my first time at Edwards, but from what I gather, the jet was moved from the museum recently, repainted, and now sits on the the flightline next to a couple other jets being readied for display at the museum. I took these pics last Friday.

Looks like the Google Earth photo isn't too old then. If that's a 15 to your left in the picture, Google Earth has fresh pics of Edwards.

Thanks, on a other topice I wrote that Edwards has an update about google earth, so now I really know that I saw that right.
But I looked on the new pictures and I can't find the A-10b version. Where do I have to look.

Are there more new pictures of the B version?

I think that was a way cool concept. Reminds me of the German salamander jet from WWII, just more modern. I would love to get the A10B up here at the New England Air Museum.
