Without going into detail I guess this is the end of an era, the Warthog Pen is closed as of yesterday. It was fun while it lasted but, I had to let it go. Maybe I can bring it back in a year or so... we will just have to wait and see.

I will still be colloecting A-10 related stuff (pictures and all) especially door art and their related stories.

Of course Billy...send them suckers in! I'v had offers to host the site a number of times before but, I never took anyone up on their offer but, I may do it this time.

I'm not going to worry about it until after the holidays and use the time to clean-up the site itself. I never really liked the new design and may go back to my roots and bring back one of the older designs.

It's kinda funny (in a sad way) but, I've tried to go to my site to make sure it's all gone and, sometimes it comes up and sometimes I'm routed to the mirco-world homepage, seems the old girl will not go down without a fight! <img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle> I know I can't get to the FTP to upload or change anything so, If there was something you may have wanted off the site try to get to it soon.... while it still has a little fight left in it!

I would be more than happy to give you your very own section of WT so all those articles and pix can still be accessed by the A-10 community. In fact, i hope you will take me up on the offer.

I merely administer the day to day operations and head the posse to keep the trolls out. For my part, it has been my pleasure to administer this site. There is no plane more beloved by the Infantryman than the mighty A-10 Warthog.

ROFL, don't know if you've heard but the first sign has already came to pass, I'm working the F-16 Viper now. In fact my one year (has it been that long) anniversary was yesterday.

I will be glad to get the "Hog Pen" back up because I didn't know just how attached to it I was. In the past couple of day I've recieved pictures, news, and other stuff that I wanted to post but, then had to catch myself and say...wait you don't have anywere to put them. <img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'll work on the site over the holidays and see if I can't get it back up as soon as possable.

Couple of questions for ya, if you carve-out a spot for me on WT will I be able to get to the files to do updates myself or will you have to do them? Also I'm still on dial-up, when I'm ready will can I send you a cd with all the Warthog Pen files (about 150meg) on it and you upload them?

I'll expand the Nose Art section as needed. If you need a couple more sub-forums to properly host your files we'll set up a few more subforums. When it's all done, i'll rename your section of WT "The Hog Pen."

As far as you being able to change things, you're already a WT admin, you can change anything you want. LOL, did you forget?

Sniper, we must be thinking of two different things, you (I) can't host a website on forum software. I have to have to be able to get to the main domain space and use a File Transfer Program (FTP) to make files, folders, and upload stuff to theses files/folders.

You might want to talk to Pete because he will know what I'm talking about. BTW he offered before to host the Warthog Pen before so it shouldn't be a big deal but, if he doesn't want to host the site now that's fine, I will just wait until I can do it myself later on down the line.

I thought you were going to transfer your files to WT by hosting the vids and pix for free on a service like photobucket, and then linking them to WT. I was basically envisioning giving you an entire section like the "Hogchat" section, i was not talking about simply having pete paying the bill for Hogpen(though he is of course free to do so if he wishes, but i don't have the authority to spend pete's money).

Pete is on yahooIM all the time if you want to try and work out some sort of arrangement for him to host your website for you. Either way, we should be able to keep the INFO on Hogpen available, which i think is the most important thing. Shoot me an Email and let me know what Pete says.
