Howdy folks! Want to let you know that we'll have some new forum software soon. It will be the http://www.phpbb.com software and I am currently working on some code that will let me convert over all the existing users and forum messages. It has a lot of new features, better security, etc.

Snipe will be helping me in validating the conversion, he just doesn't know it yet.

I'll keep everyone posted on its progress!

It has posts as-of yesterday evening. Feel free to browse around and give it a whirl. If you see anything odd, let me know. We'll be overwriting everything there once we're ready to do a final conversion, so keep using this forum for your main topics.

I may redo some of the graphics if I get time. Some of them I swiped from a different phpBB style and I'm not 100% sold on them.

I get a bunch of boxes with red Xs in them where graphics are supposed to be.

This is goign to take some getting used to....
I'm sure its already been noticed, and I don't want to be the spelling nazi, but Territory is spelt wrong on the new forum. On the browser title bar, at the top of the window and on the top left where it says waht section you are in.

The "L" in AMXS stands for "leadership"

While trying to use the "upload avitar from a url" feature (under profile settings) I recieved the following error

It works fine though if I use the off site url option though.

Coach, the boxes with red x's normally mean it can't be displayed because of computer/internet access settings. Like on .gov computers we can't view google images. If it's a picture of a broken image icn in the corner then it's b/c the image is not there.
All the images load fine for me.

What's the URL for the image you were trying? I did a simple one from Yahoo's site and it worked fine.

It's the avitar I'm using here and is hosted on photobucket. It works fine If I "hotlink" it from their site but the error I had came when I tried to upload it to the wt site from photobucket.

JackB also mentioned he had the same problem.

Oddd.... I used the URL from your avatar, told it to upload from that URL and it worked fine. [shrug] You stumped me.

Looks good. Most of the other "Comm-Geek" Forums I go to (since I can't hit WT from work for some reason) are all PHPBB boards. Maybe I can get to the new one from work, since I've got 12 hours tomorrow to try...

the current form of the WT is the one and only website that is nearly 100% reliable. The php based ones get fudged-up on a regular basis. No contest on looks and features, but A-10 folks arent supposed to worry about looks and features

This new forum is great, and will make the life of the mods/admins MUCH easier, as we were being increasingly hammered by spam-bots over the last several months. Having to delete all those accounts manually 1 at a time really sucked high wind.

Thanx for the new home for WT Pete, i think it's great!

It looks good, hopely everybody likes it. I have only to look for mine avatar. Maybe a new one?
