I don't have a very rock solid feel about tonights MNF game, but i would normally lean to the home team when two offensive juggernauts are getting together for a prime time game.

I can tell you who i think will win next week's MNF game though. ;)

Can't say I'm not disappointed, but the Vikes did come back from an embarassing 14-0 deficit to tie it up. But I must say, I never like their chances when they're playing "catchup," especially against a home team, and even MORE especially when that home team is a power offense like Indy.

Hats off to the Colts, but I at least have this for bragging rights:

The Vikings scored more than the Eagles this week (nanny-nanny-boo-boo, Snipe!)!!!

let the spiraling begin.

MNF Football time......i figure the Eagles will win by about 150-3, lol. ;)

"But let's be realistic Snipe, with a healthy Randy Moss into the mix, if they could go into Lambeau on a short week without his services and lose only as time expires on a crummy FG, the Falcons are a joke at best - who else would give the Eagles the most fight in the NFC Champsionship game? Answer: No one."

True.

Although the Falcons have a MUCH better defense than the Vikes, and, well.....Vick.

Now on to tonights HISTORIC game.

Several records were set:

The Eagles scored more points in Dallas tonight against the Cowboys than ANY TEAM IN NFL HISTORY in the Cowboys 44 year history(49pts).

The Eagles scored more points in one quarter than Dallas has EVER SURRENDERED IN IT'S HISTORY.(28pts, 2d Quarter)

The Eagles tied the most points ever scored on Dallas in one half(35).

Terrell Owens set a new MNF record with at least one TD in 7 MNF games in a row. The previous record holder was Jerry Rice. Owens scored 3 TD's tonight, and now has 12 for the season, which leads the NFL.

Owens and McNabb tied an all-time Eagles record by connecting for 12 TDs in one season.(Jaworski-Quick was the last time it was done, back in 83).

McNabb had his career best QB rating in tonights game(140.1). He threw 4 more TD passes, and amassed 350+ yds passing, with no INTs.

Terrell Owens had his 5th 100yd Game in the last 6 games, and tallied his 6th 100yard game as an Eagle(not bad considering he's played all of 9 games as an Eagle!). Owens is on pace to SMASH every Eagles single season recieving record.

McNabb hit 4 different recievers for gains of 40 or more yards. Pinkston, Westbrook, Owens, and Mitchell(the passes to Pinkston, Owens, and Mitchell were all 50 yards or more).

The McNabb to Mitchell 62 yard pass was the best play i've ever seen McNabb make, and indeed is the 3d best play i've ever seen ANY Eagle make.
(#1 was Randall to C.Williams for 98yds after breaking away from B.Smith in the endzone against the 90' Buffalo Bills, that was perhaps the best play in the history of the NFL. #2 was a 98yd interception for a TD by Eric Allen against the NY Jets in 1993. #4 was Cunningham to Garrity on MNF against the Giants in 1988).

The McNabb to Mitchell play will likely win the ESPY for play of the year. :)

To top it off Lito Shepard sealed the game with his 4th pick in the last 4 games, returning it 101yds for a TD. That was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. :) That kid is a stud in the making, and has a good shot at making the pro bowl in his 1st year as a starter.

You guys have no idea how much we here in Philly HATE the stinking Dallas Cowboys. It is far and away our #1 Rivalry. To see the Eagles smack the cowboys like that is a lifelong dream, lol. I'm freaking giddy. :)

I was a bit concerned about the 21pts the Eagles surrendered until i realized that N.Wayne, M.Simoneau, C.Simon and D.Walker were lost to injury in the 1st Quarter. Losing 4 starters on D will obviously cause problems, but even still the backups came in and played OK. The Game was never in doubt.

Eagles reshuffled the lineup by starting DT Rayburn, moving Trotter to starting MLB(he had a very good game tonight), and moving Simoneau to OLB. Seemed to work, as the Eagles did a pretty good job shutting down the Cowboys running game tonight.

Levens also ran the ball extremely well, Westbrook did his damage as a reciever.

8-1, and the hapless Redskins are next. LOL, that one could be 150-3 too. ;)

After that come the Giants, and the Eagles can for all intents and purposes clinch the division in week 10. Theoretically the Falcons are in the mix, but it looks like homefield throughout the playoffs is probably already in the bag. The Eagles have some real dogs on the schedule in the 2d half of the season(Redskins twice, Cowboys again, Giants again and the Bengals in Philly).
The Eagles only have two tough games left, home against the Pack, and on the road against the Rams. The Eagles have a legitimate shot(though i wouldn't count on it) of going 15-1. Amazing.

I'll stick to my original prediction of 13-3, but 14-2 is probably more likely. I figure the Eagles will go 1-1 against the Pack/Rams.
No 14-2 team has ever failed to reach the Superbowl, at least that i am aware of.

At this point, i don't particularly care who the Eagles play in the NFC playoffs, they are CLEARLY the best team in the NFC, and by a very wide margin. Barring further injury, i'd be stunned if the Eagles didn't make the Superbowl this year.

Philadelphia Daily News story:

Network desperately throws in towel in promotion

By DOUG DARROCH

Daddy, why is that woman in the locker room with Terrell Owens?

And why isn't she wearing any clothes?

And why is she jumping into T.O.'s arms?

Daddy?

Daddy?

Nice job, ABC. The skit that opened "Monday Night Football" made Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction look like small potatoes.

If you saw it, your office is probably talking about it today. If you're a parent having to answer uncomfortable questions, you're not real pleased with ABC today.

The woman with T.O. was Nicolette Sheridan, playing her character in ABC's "Desperate Housewives." That character, Edie Britt, is described on the show's Web site as a serial divorcee whose romantic conquests keep the neighborhood buzzing.

Sheridan was flown in from Los Angeles on Friday, and the bit was taped from 5:30 to 8 p.m. that day in the Eagles' locker room in Lincoln Financial Field.

It starts with a shot of T.O. in uniform in the pregame locker room, alone with Sheridan, who is not in uniform - unless you consider a towel a uniform.

Here's the dialogue, courtesy of ABC:

TO: Hey.

NS: Hey there, Terrell.

TO: What are you doing here?

NS: My house burned down and I needed to take a long hot shower (she says seductively). So where are you off to looking so pretty?

TO: Baby, it's "Monday Night Football," game starts in 10 minutes.

NS: Oh you and your little games...I've got a game we can play (again seductively).

TO: Hey, this is major. We've got Parcells and the Cowboys...and Donovan needs me.

NS: What about my needs? What about Edie?

TO: Will you stop it...Just tell me what's buried under that pool.

NS: You know I can't tell you that.

TO: Then I've got a game to play.

NS: Terrell, wait...(drops towel)

TO:(Smiling) Aww, hell, the team's going to have to win without me. (She jumps in his arms) - cut to "Desperate Housewives" co-stars Felicity Huffman and Teri Hatcher watching T.O. and N.S. on TV.

TH: Oh my god, who watches this trash; sex, lies, deception?

FH: And that woman...She's just so...desperate.

TH: I know what we should watch. (She picks up remote and changes channel to "MNF.")

TH and FH together: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!

If it was football we were ready for after that, it's no wonder there are desperate housewives.

-------------------------------------

The pregame promo was pretty over the top. The FCC should probably fine ABC, but won't.

"The Vikes will only get better on defense, they have too much talent not to. A disturbing stat is that the defense has like 7 1st rounders and 3 2nd rounders starting, so I still have faith they will stop making the mental errors and really step it up."

I saw that stat on MNF last week when the Vikes played, and was pretty amazed.

"Look at the Vikes remaining schedule, they should be favored in all of them and very well could win out. We all know how hungry the Eagles are to win the NFC Championship but don't forget how much more hungry the Vikings are. I'm not saying the Vikes have earned a rematch with the Eagles in the NFC Championship game just yet, but I think my Vikes will stick together and gel and be right there for the Eagles - likely at Philly because yes, the Eagles aren't going to go 11-5 or worse!"

Would be a hell of a game. :)

Way to go T.O. Make me dislike you even more than I already do. The ONLY thing you have to offer are a few TDs. You're a cancer to society. Snipe, no offense, but you guys can have him. I wouldn't care if Cleveland was promised a Super Bowl win for T.O., I wouldn't want him in my town.

That being said, the Eagles are a great team. The Vikes are ok. The Falcons are pretty good too. To tell you the truth I think the Falcons are better than the Vikes, but that's just a matchup thing. I still think the Eagles rushing D is very suspect...something they must improve if they're going to win it all. I wouldn't be surpised if Portis puts up bug numbers against them this week even though I think the Eagles win handily...

TO has been the consumate team player so far in Philly.

Of course, they are 8-1, and not 1-8, but him being here kind of makes 1-8 almost impossible.

I can remember a lot of teams passing up on Moss for his 'cancer', and the same for Warren Sapp. The teams that selected them ended up laughing all the way to the bank.

Some people just don't like flamboyant players like Deion, Moss, Owens, etc, which i understand, but i find that as long as they're on MY team i like them just fine, lol. ;)

Portis is on a pace for a 1600yd season this year, so i pretty much expect him to have a good day. I wish they'd have stuck with Brunnel one more game, but the Eagles should still win anyway. Eagles-Redskins games have a tendency to be very close games- even when one of them stinks, so we'll have to wait and see.

I agree that teams that take these players laugh all the way to the bank, but if that's the price I think there are plenty of great players out there who aren't total jerks. I remember when CLE took Andre Rison...I was so mad. (One of Modell's ploys to make CLE lose money so he could justify the move to Baltimore). I guess growing up with Bernie Kosar, Brian Brennan, Kevin Mack, Earnest Byner, Ozzie Newsome, Clay Matthews, Hanford Dixon, Frank Minnifield, Felix Wright, Carl Hairston, Eric Turner, Michael Dean Perry...those guys were GREAT players who let their play do the talking. Everyone knows T.O., Moss, and Sapp are good...they don't have to tell me themselves...and they don't have to throw all morality away in the process. I REALLY wish I was from IND cuz I think Peyton Manning is the best thing to happen to football in a long, long time. Outstanding player + consummate professional = AWESOME. I wish all players would at least take a cue from him...

McNabb is your kind of player then. So is Kearse, Douglass, two time pro-bowler TE Chad lewis, etc.

A lot of times, a team needs that attitude player to get over the top.

ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT

Exclusive: Terrell Owens Talks To ET About The 'Desperate' Controversy!

November 17, 2004

'Desperate Housewives' has shocked once again, this time with a scandalous skit featuring a nude NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN in the arms of Philadelphia Eagles star TERRELL OWENS, which aired during the opening of this week's "Monday Night Football."

Tonight on ET, our KEVIN FRAZIER has an exclusive with the football great to get his take on the overwhelming reaction to the steamy skit.

"I was all for it," Owens says of the skit. "She's a hot lady. I enjoyed it." But he says he fully understands how it could be perceived as inappropriate. He feels it was unfortunate the way things ended up but says ABC took responsibility for the situation.

In the skit, Sheridan is seen in nothing but a towel in a locker room. When Owens enters, she tells him, "I've got a game we could play," before she drops her towel and jumps into his arms.

Owens, who says that the actress was covered in all the right places, says they rehearsed the scene about 10 times and that there was really no pretending on his part. "It was kind of hard to keep my eyes off her, so it wasn't really acting at all!"

He also says it was Nicollette who broke the ice. "I was the shy one," he reveals. "I'm not the professional actor. I was just trying to get comfortable with the lines and get comfortable with her!"

In a statement from ABC Sports, the network apologized Tuesday, saying "We have heard from many of our viewers about last night's 'Monday Night Football' opening segment, and we agree that the placement was inappropriate."

Owens, who says he doesn't "really see himself as a sex symbol," says although he's never seen an episode of "Housewives," he will become "a 'Desperate Housewives' junkie" and is even thinking about guest starring on the show.

"I'm trying to get into acting and it's something that I may try to pursue after football," he reveals. "So I was just trying to go with the flow of the skit and I think it came out very well, even though many people didn't feel like it was appropriate."

And he says that although it caused a stir, he thinks it did only good things for his career. "I would say it would definitely help," he says. "I would never dream of being on ET!"

For more on our exclusive interview with Terrell Owens, check out tonight's ET!

9-1, and the Eagles just keep rolling.

Today, they ravaged the #2 defense in the league for 28 points, winning 28-6.

Eagles run D held C.Portis to 37 yards on 17 carries(2.1 per carry).
McNabb threw four more TDs.
Owens scored his league leading 13th TD reception, and the Eagles other WR T.Pinkston caught over 100yds of passes.

Westbrook had a solid game with 140 total yards and 2 rec. TD.

Next up...the Giants.

That should be another 150-3 final, lol.

Not as much as Greenbay hates Freddie Mitchell, lol.(Freddie mitchell is the player that caught the 4th and 26 pass last year that knocked the pack out of the playoffs).

The Eagles play GB in two weeks. I'm sure you'll have your revenge then. ;)
