Some interesting stats i read:
Since 2000 the Eagles are 46-12 vs NFC opponents, .793%.
Since 2000 the Eagles D leads the NFL in Sacks, Pts Allowed, and Redzone defense.
The Eagles have become just the third team in NFL history to record 5 straight 11 win seasons(Dallas, 49ers).
In nine games this season vs NFC opponents the Eagles have outscored the opposition 288-113, with an avg margin of victory of 32- 13.
And they just keep rolling on. The bigger question is, who in this Conference can stop them next year, or the year after, or the year after?
LOL
Oh, and Favre's 36 games with a TD streak....OVER
A few more silly stats and observations.
At the end of the 1st half, Mcnabb had more TDs(5), than incompletions(4).
LOL
Green bay has not won a game in Philly since 1962.
This was the worst Packers loss since 1990(When a randall cunningham led Eagles beat them 31-0), and is the worst Packers loss of the Brett Favre era.
Favre went just 14 of 29 passing for 131 yards and two interceptions. For the first time in over 2 seasons he didn't throw a TD.
Superstar Running back A. Green carried 11x, for just 37 yards, 3.3yd avg.
The vaunted and previously unstobbable Packers U-71 formation was totally shut down by the Eagles despite the Packers employing it heavily in the 1st quarter. Eagles DC Johnson countered it by playing DT D.Walker at LE, moving Kearse to RE, and playing two MLBS(Trotter, Simenou), giving the Eagles a very big front 7, but one that can also apply heavy pressure against the pass.
Since MLB J.Trotter has moved to the starting line up and simenou has moved outside the Eagles have been a dominating run defense team. The Green bay packers Run offense was completely shut down, gaining just 50yds on 18 carries, a 2.8yd avg.
The Pack's #1 in the NFC offense(yds, scoring) 1st team unit ammassed less than 175yds total offense.(Favre was pulled with 8:30 left in the 4th with the Eagles up 47-3), as were most of the Eagles defensive starters.
With just under 8 minutes left in the 4th the Packers needed 7 plays inside the 10 to finally score a TD, breaking the Eagles streak of 16 straight quarters without surrendering a TD.
The Eagles defense has now allowed 10 fewer pts than the next best defense, the Baltimore Ravens.
This game was an asswhipping like Favre has never felt before. Hope he enjoyed it as much as i did. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
Eagles remaining schedule: At Redskins, Vs Dallas, at Rams, at Bengals.
Can you say 15-1???
Hehehehehe.
Just to cheer up the rest of the NFC about the future, the Eagles have 5 picks in the first 3 rds next year...This team is friggin stacked for the forseeable future.
The Eagles may have pretty much locked every thing up in the NFC, but what a dogfight in the AFC.
Still think NE is the class of the conference, but i really think they'd have a hell of a hard time going into Pitt in the playoffs and beating the Steelers.
Time will tell.
Anyway, Eagles next game is next Sun night on Prime time. The Eagles never lose on prime-time.
Final score: 50-3 Eagles, lol.
